Some of the hottest girls on tv in the late 70's and early 80's. Who needed porn then between those girls and the price is right girls? lol :helpme

I always remember that girl in the overalls who'd sit on the porch with that dog

Mutt 05-16-2007 11:19 PM

yeah of course - one of the cheesiest programs ever, Barbie Benton and Misty Rowe were the two hot girls.

i remember two guys standing in a fake cornfield and going 'SALUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE' to some small hick town every week.

there were only 3 networks, no cable and maybe a couple of independent stations so people watched every show even if it sucked. i hated Hee Haw.

D 05-16-2007 11:35 PM

I remember watching that as a kid every week.

It possibly resulted in my present-day aversion to country music. :1orglaugh

aico 05-16-2007 11:37 PM

There were some serious hotties on that show. Kind of the American version of Benny Hill.

King Adam 05-16-2007 11:38 PM

Oh the memories. How could anyone not love it.

I have the Time Life box set. No joke... LOVE IT!!!!!!

BVF 05-17-2007 03:17 AM

I watched Hee-Haw when I was a kid but I was too young to be thinking about bitches...I always loved the bit where they would spit and say "they were gone"...

Hee-Haw also made me with that I could play the banjo.

BT 05-17-2007 04:22 AM

great show

Sarah_Jayne 05-17-2007 04:23 AM

In the past, I have attempted to explain HeeHaw to my British friends but I just haven't been able to really do it justice..evident by the blank looks.

Methodcash Rick 05-17-2007 06:15 AM

I had totally forgotten about that. I remember the show...seems like there were parts of it that I didn't like, but I can't remember what they are.

F U S I O N 05-17-2007 06:20 AM

We used to watch that show every Saturday evening. Ahhh, the good ol' days!

SweetT 05-17-2007 06:59 AM

There was more porn on that show than there is on some of your internet sites. Hee Haw was the raciest show on television, at the time. Anyone remember "THE HEE HAW ALL JUG BAND"? It was nothing but girls with HUGE tits blowing on moonshine jugs and singing.

Oh man. Lawrence Welk. My grandparents always had that on and it was the only show they would turn the sound up for.

I remember Hee Haw.
"Hey Grandpa! What's for supper?"
Junior Samples used car sales "Call bR549"
Empty Arms Motel
Minnie Pearl and her hat with the price tag still on it.
Kornfield Jokes

And who can forget this song:

Gloom, despair and agony on me. Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me.

SPACE GLIDER 05-17-2007 09:30 PM

Was it true one of the cast was murdered along with his wife?

PFFT You Were Gone
by Buck Owens
album: Too Old to Cut the Mustard (w.Buddy Alan] (1972)

Archie Campbell/Buck Owens/Hee Haw

Down here on the farm the weather gets messy
Laying around with nothin' to do
When you went away, you took my cow Bessie
I miss her darling, more than I miss you

You took off your leg, your wig and your eye glass
And you shoud've seen the look on my face
I wanted to kiss, I wanted to hug you
But you were scattered all over the place

Chorus:
Where, where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over,
And thought I found true love.
You met another and
Phht! you were gone.

I know that you loved me, here's my way of knowing
The proofs hanging out right there on the line
When I see the snow and feel the wind blowing
Your nighties hugging them long johns of mine

The noises you made at our supper table
Your habits, my dear, were surely absurd
But how many times do I have to tell you
Soup is a dish to be seen and not heard

Chorus:
Where, oh where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over,
And thought I found true love.
You met another and
Phht! you were gone.

Remember you phoned me a-sobbin' and cryin'
The dog bit your maw, and drug her around
You said she looked pale and thought she was dying
I said "Don't worry, I'll buy a new hound."

I had six kids and you had eleven
And we had a boy, and they grew like flowers
I wish you'd come back, without you ain't heaven
'Cause your kids and my kids are beatin' up ours

Chorus:
Where, oh where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over,
And thought I found true love.
You met another and
Phht! you were gone

I searched the world over,
And thought I found true love.
You met another and
Phht! you were gone...

SPACE GLIDER 05-18-2007 09:09 PM

As a kid I remember being so amused by the cartoon donkey in the opening credits

BlondeBecks 05-18-2007 09:14 PM

I was young at the time too....but mini pearl with the price tag still on every hat comes to mind.....Haven't thought about that show in years.

From findagrave.com

David "Stringbean" Akeman
Birth: Jun. 17, 1915
Death: Nov. 11, 1973

Comedian, Country Musician. Star of the "Hee Haw" television show. He and his wife were killed by burglars, who had heard rumors about them storing cash in his house, and laid in wait until the Akemans arrived home from the Ryman Auditorium (where the Grand Ole Opry was located at the time).

That's it! Wow. It was also a "rumor" about cash that got the Cutler family murdered.
