Germany has the largest economy in Europe and the third largest economy in the world, behind the United States and Japan. It is ranked fifth in the world in terms of purchasing power.

The export of goods is an essential part of the German economy and one of the main factors of its wealth.

According to the World Trade Organization, Germany is the world's top exporter with $1.133 trillion exported, from the beginning of 2006.

Now under the stewardship of its first female chancellor, Angela Merkel, Germany is slowly emerging from a prolonged period of economic stagnation.

Once perceived as having one of the most tolerant attitudes to porn, it is now one of the most regulated markets.

To this end, you should also include phone billing as part of your billing arsenal ? the Germans love the anonymity and convenience of paying you this way. Indeed, Germany is our largest overall market?

By steadfastly sticking to a ?credit card only? sales strategy, you are depriving yourself of significant additional money ?made in Germany?.

i have to agree

no offense to any phone billers but give a german the option (and we do) between phone and direct debit they will choose direct debit more then phone

Our statistics for Germany show: 70% Direct Debit, 20% CC and 10% SMS, Phone and other alternative payment solutions. And that's not going to change a lot.
- chargebacks are higher, but also the signup ratio - 100% of Germans have a bank account. We do not have checks there anymore. So even wellfare, unemployment money, childrens money etc will just be paid per wire.

But - password by phone is a great alternative to have in addition to direct debit (have to write that, or Tanja will not like me anymore :D )
No - honestly - it is a great addition and an alternative for people who don't want to use their bank account - even if at the end his phonebill will be paid per direct debit ;)

Always valued doing biz in Germany - the people we dealt with were 100% honorable and deals could be done with a handshake.

Lost track of the German market a little, but there was also an accent on producing a good product - and the packaging was excellent.

I don't get it, what's with these non payers who jump from company to company and never get called out.
Then webmasters act surprised when the shiny new company falters and people get left without payment of course, when everything is going well and webmasters are getting paid, people like Tanja speak on panels, hob knob at the shows, have PR articles written up about them
and bask in the limelight. Then once everything falls apart , they have some BS excuse that exonerates then from the responsibility of paying webmasters.

And that leads to another question: why do companies hire people or associate themselves with people who have a history of non payment to webmasters?
What does that say about a companies that hire these people?

Maybe passwordbyphone will pay me the money I am owed , as well as the other webmasters who were never paid by Goodthinxx?

I say take it out of the fat salary you are probably paying "Tanja" , or are we afraid that "Tanja might get angry" ?

This is why we use GXB... They have both driect debit EU (including Germany) and telephone billing.

We have been using them for a couple years and they are by far the best out there..

"Customers will call to receive a password and will stay on the phone to listen to their password about 97% to 98 % of the time. The caller listens to a interesting 4,5 minute announcement, followed by the password and the password repetition which results in average to a 5 minutes 15 seconds to 5 minutes 30 second call duration.

There are about 2 to 3 percent of callers who hang up during the first 30 to 60 seconds. Once the caller remains over 60 seconds on the phone he will want to listen to the password. After all, this is the reason why the caller is calling and therefore will stay the full duration on the phone. We included the very few "30 second hang ups" into our calculation and will pay for every password of the duration of 6 minutes instead of the 5 minutes 30 seconds. This means we pay for 30 seconds more than the actual holding time and this covers generously the few "30 second hang ups" you may have."

CCBill eu does Direct debit. I also have a solution for Direct Debit. We have been processing Direct debit in germany and several other countries in EU for 10 years so we are by far the longest Direct debit processor in EU
