What do you all think of Bloomberg running for president?

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is going to announce that he's running for president, I guess under a third party.
All I know is that he's socially liberal and fiscally conservative, which I like.
I dont know anything about him, but I guess NY'ers love him.

Ive always been liberal but don't think Hillary or Obama would make good presidents. What do you all think of Bloomberg?

economic mastermind ..

I dont know about many of his views in certain directions but I do know he knows ALL about economics

so if Americans want to live good .. have lots of foods on the table . ; less unemployment .. a vibrant economy . . much investement . . he is the man

I like that, I like having a extremely successful businessman as a leader

Would think the first priority the US may need is a business hat on - it's one very serious challenge to clear up the debris and fiscal havoc which currently exists.

Would not be interested in liberal or conservative crap - that has nothing to do with running USA Inc and only a diversion. Kinda agree with Deputy Chief Command on this.

If he can somehow buy a personality with all that money he may have a chance.

Well we already got a chick, a colored, a beaner, a wop and a Mormon. So why not a jew?

My hunch is that he will syphon votes from both parties, but mostly from the Republicans.

He may help keep Republicans whom are pissed off about Iraq from voting Democratic, but he'll still hurt the Republicans chances.

Perot and Nader already have proven that the chances of an Independent winning are practically nil, and that they hurt the party they are most closely aligned with.

Personally, I would like to see him campaign in the Republican primary.

He would have my vote. He's all business no bullshit. He's the only guy I can think of that wouldn't think twice about telling religious nuts and lefty maniacs to go to hell on a lot of issues without blinking.

He knows business, he's already as rich as any man would want to be and he's not aligned with any party.

A reporter once asked him why he goes to one of his homes out of town on some weekends instead of staying in the city. He asked the reporter if the city is running smoothly. Of course the reporter said yes. Bloomberg said it's because he put together a great team to run the city so he DOESN'T have to be there 24 hours a day unless there's an emergency.

That's how the government should be run. Find the best people for the job, set the budget, give them direction and let it roll. That's totally the opposite of what Bush did.

To add to that, I think part of the problem with America is it elects people who aren't really the best choices for office. We usually elect people who want attention instead of people who know how to run a business... which after all is what America is.
