Business Thread: Supreme Court Ruling
So I was just reading this weeks Business Week and there is an interesting article on a supreme court case involving KSR International co. Vs. Teleflex inc.
I don't know all the gory details, but at the core of the case was a patent held on the gas pedal.
The ruling that came back is essentially that the gas pedal is an 'obvious' innovation involving two existing technologies. In most simple terms, you can't patent the obvious.
Are there implications in the internet industry? What chance do patent trolls have now to enforce their patents?
