Do you use full page ads? Do you use them effectively?

I remember when full page ads were really starting to become popular. People would use them as a doorway page, usually between the enter link and the content on a free site.

Sometimes I would create a page that was really *nothing* but mini ads. I had seen a few others do the same thing and tried to improve on what I'd seen and make them more effective.

These days, they are offered but don't seem to be used as much or even effectively.

There are several ways of using them:
Exit consoles - I know a lot of people hate them, but they still make money. By popping a full page ad when someone leaves your page, you can make some extra income. By targeting it, you can do even better. maybe you have an Asian toplist or an Asian site and for whatever reason, the surfer didn't care for the site you were advertising. Now, you can pop an Asian-specific full page ad and show them a couple more sites they might like.

Doorway pages - Maybe you have a bunch of traffic going to a BBW site and you're not quite which site to send them to. Well, send them to a page that has 3 or 4 BBW sites to choose from and let them choose.

404 Pages - Are you monetizing your 404 traffic? You should be. One great way is to put up a multis-ite full page ad. This wqill filter out that traffic and while it's not the best converting traffic out there, you'll be leaving money on the table without one.

At Adult Paymaster, we provide full page ads that are site specific, niche specific and multi-niche. They can be incorporated in one of the above ways.

So, GFYers, do you use full pages? If so, how?
Most programs are offering them and you really should have them as another tool in your arsenal along with other tools like free content, hosted galleries, rss feeds and regualr ad banners.

Creative, yet informative
Using full page ads really does seem to be a lost art these days.

I remember these big long, scrolling pages that were nothing but ads, but looked so good and clickable...I made more on those than I ever did gallery pages. I would even throw in a couple sexswap banners for good measure.

What do you mean by Traffic Back? Do you mean as a program feature?

No problem

Hmm, now that you mention it, I might have to whip out a "would you hit it?" thread for Kat and/or Amber...

Full page ads still make money for me, as do 404 exits. It's free money if you just spend a few minutes harnessing the power of 404 ;)

Indeed. A little bit of applied creativity can help bring in some extra cash.

I used to use FPA's a lot 'back in the day'; they were very effective.

But, I've noticed a change in the design of FPAs in the past few years. Rather than being a mix of text and images (which seems to be very effective), they are now just one large image, sliced into small bits.

Does anyone still have the 'old style' FPAs?

We have a combination of both styles.

Great point ... I've wondered this a lot as well, but notice the 'giant large graphic' style has taken over paysites & all other promo tools as well. I've always wondered if its because designers are lazier now, or less designers design stuff for themselves so don't really care whether it converts or not.

To design an old school ad requires a bit more marketing text etc but personally I think they were much more clickable in the old days than now ... they don't really look like multi site ads, just another big rectangle porn site design.

I'm doing a full page ad for adult pay master later today which will be OLD SKOOL! Screenshots of sites with a header on the top summarizing the ad & a list of text links to niche sorted sites.

Like this existing one only better ... ;-)

So what is your fpa wishlist?!

LionDollars has a full range of half page (HPA) and full page (FPA) ads and a whole bunch of geo-targeted ads from FPA down to banner sizes for all of our premium sites.

In the LionDollars members area, you can view your GEOIP banners and half and full page ads by going to 'Linking Codes/Marketing Materials', then select 'Premium Sites' program of your choice, select view banners on the site you want. Once there, click on 'Get your Geo Targeted Banners by clicking here!' and Bob is your uncle ;-)

;-)
