what do you think about people spamming the same program in "spam me with" threads?

let's say some guy starts a "spam me with big tits sponsors" thread

and then you're the first one to reply for instance JuggCash
and then the thread reaches 40 replies as usually and 6 of them also have JuggCash ref. codes in them

do you think that's a little stupid/unfair, or not?

sharp 05-14-2007 12:04 AM

stupid, yes. but why unfair?

well if the guy is looking for recommendations, then the first person to recommend a particular program should get credit for it

polish_aristocrat 05-14-2007 12:07 AM

not that I complain though, there's almost no money in referrals from GFY anyway

Sly 05-14-2007 12:08 AM

What's stupid is that you actually care. ;-)

I concur.

lazycash 05-14-2007 12:28 AM

I'm assuming you're referring to cut and paste drive by ref whores such as DaddyHalbucks and Cash.

tolik 05-14-2007 01:22 AM

most people just copy/paste from prepared text files.

as for me - it sucks.

BV 05-14-2007 01:25 AM

If an affiliate recommends one of my programs in a thread I will usually bump his post, thank him, and disable my sig for that post.

Jace 05-14-2007 01:36 AM

I don't think it is unfair, but it sure is stupid...LOL

i love the guys that have a txt document with all the sponsors listed in it and just paste it in when someone says SPAM ME! and it is like 60 sponsors or some shit....I always skip over those

Sexsitesurfer 05-14-2007 01:52 AM

Not unfair... but I wouldn't click on anyone's ref if they can't be arsed to answer my question and just copy paste the same tired list.

If you look you quite often get foot fetish sponsors spammed in a bondage fetish request and such.

READ THE FUCKING THREAD TITLE AND QUESTION!

I think that there are much bigger things to worry about.

Evil E 05-14-2007 04:14 AM

Lot's of retardation IMO.

The Ghost 05-14-2007 04:34 AM

I think it's worse to see programs spammed in completely unrelated threads. Like a thread asking for mature models, and two seconds after a program posted a site in a "teen" spam thread they list it as "mature" in a mature spam thread.

IMHO that is much more common, and annoying.

bobby666 05-14-2007 07:43 AM

that's biz (here at least)

jonesonyou 05-14-2007 07:47 AM

I watch to see how many people are promoting a specific program...A sign of how profitable or not the program is.

fris 05-14-2007 07:51 AM

ref code whores suck

Tom_PM 05-14-2007 07:53 AM

I read those and if I see our programs already mentioned, I dont post and quietly thank our good affiliates for recommending us :)

alby_persignup 05-14-2007 08:39 AM

LOL... i think its stupid!

Posting a link has nothing to do with whether a program is profitable or not, or how good a specific site is. Just a referral from someone who most likely is paid from the program to post a referral link. Very few are real webmaster recommendations.
