You'll be able to beatmix on 'em, but I think scratching is out on those.

If you're into that, blu-tack a 2p piece on top of the headshell and you might be able to do a half decent job of it. You'll wreck a few needles and probably some vinyl too though.

karlm 05-13-2007 07:49 AM

Im mostly gunna be mixing hard trance/ hard house

But i heard if i want to scratch i can put some plastic sheets on top of the slips

That helps too, but I guess with those tunes you won't need to.

KILL_FRENZY 05-13-2007 01:32 PM

i think scratching for hard trance/ hard house is useless

Pornwolf 05-13-2007 01:48 PM

No scratching is necessary so you are golden.

I will say that you need to pick up final scratch or something. Most of the older stuff will be a bitch for you to find on wax. Also, the hot new singles get sent out as mp3's literally months before the wax so if you can't mix mp3's you will always be a step behind.

those decks are certainly ok for beginning. and for the music you say you're gonna be playing you're fine. sounds like you're off to a high end beginning experience.

good luck. don't be afraid to ask questions :thumbsup

that ain't true, just depends on where you are shopping

larger hard house/trance labels release the vinyl first, then mp3 a few weeks later...same with breaks and house

in fact, I get a lot of hip hop on vinyl long before the actual cd or mp3s are out

I WILL add though, that a lot of stuff is never released on vinyl....smaller less known producers, etc....but you can just burn those to cd, because barely any clubs have serato or final scratch

serato is FAAAAAR better btw

You should check out Eddie haliwell then. Pretty awesome scratchin qualities.

As for you Karlm, I think those Stantons are excellent! And scratching those won't give you as much trouble as you think. just get the extra weight right.

Also, I recommend you to get some CD players. i've been using some cheap ass American Audio's that I bought for a bargain for 7 years now, and can't leave home without em.

karlm 05-15-2007 06:14 AM

Thanks and yea eddie is awsome seen him a few times.

What do you mean about the weight?

cheers
