Where can I get a domain valued?

I have a one word domain which I think would be easily brandable (is that a word?). Anybody know where can I get a realistic appraisal of the worth of the domain?

Darrell 05-12-2007 03:02 PM

Anybody?

I'm pretty sure you can get a good, honest evaluation from the gfy members. They always seem to put a tremendous amount of time and effort into giving very good information on the valuation process.

Just post the domain name here and know that the responses will be sincere and calculated by some of the most respectable domain value estimators in the world. Good luck my friend.

Domain valuations from companies are suspect and most buyers could give a shit.
There are some basic principles that will make a domain worth a certain amount.
.com, obviously worth the most, but I just sold a .org for 17k, so it really is relative to the market but in the end it's about what the buyer wants to pay, how strong the keyword is, targeted demographic, memorable, marketable, easily typed. Real English language terms or short phrases, and a bunch of other shit.

Post it up, we'll tell you based on what we have seen sell, or have sold in the past.

woj 05-12-2007 06:44 PM

Just post the domain here, you will get some idea of what the domain is worth, and it won't cost you anything...

Linguist 05-12-2007 06:46 PM

post it here

you can check http://HuntingMoon.com and see some pricing by category.

CunningStunt 05-12-2007 08:08 PM

sedo.com have an option, but I've never used it.

A domain is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Any opinion of a domain's worth is subjective.

Probono 05-12-2007 08:16 PM

I love leapfish.com
$1,905,624.00
It has been determined based on search results that this name may be extensively valuable beyond the scope of the LeapFish.com domain analysis tool. It is recommended that you seek the services of a complete domain appraisal company rather than rely on this estimate.
I will accept that offer tonight

Thanks for all the replies. The domains I am interested in selling are:

crikes.com
crikes.net
crikes.org

I think the work crikes is easily brandable and could be used for many different types of business like a SE, insurance company etc.

I'm not sure if the word crikes is used in the USA but it is a commonly used word in the UK.

Dictionary definition: A term used to show bemused puzzlement at two or more simultaneously occuring, surprising events. Used in a situation where use of the word 'crikey' could be applicable to all concurrent incidents or observances. "Crikes! That crocodile jumped 2 meters out of the water and, as an aside, my pants are on fire!"

Estimated Domain Name Value: $33,363.00

for godsgirls.com

Pornwolf 05-13-2007 08:12 AM

Crikes? That's not a common word in the US. Most people have never heard it. Make sure you focus on UK or other buyers from places that might use that word.

Good luck.

It's not the Gospel on real values. It is fun to see what it says though. The same kind of fun that a magic 8 ball is.

my best domain is $78k

Juilan 05-13-2007 09:34 AM

It sounds like a variation of Crikey. It's in the urban dictionary... does it get any type in traffic?

Urban Dictionary: "similar to blimey. shortened corruption of "christ the king" to express displeasure at a happening or event."

Sure, it's "commonly used" --but as a slang for "Christ."

Do you really think any worthwhile insurance company wants to be associated with THAT? If so, you are completely clueless about branding.

:Oh crap

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 05-13-2007 09:52 AM

Hi Darrell

Unless a company really wants the domain, because it mirrors the name of their company and or a individual with more money then time... will such make a grab for the domain thinking such will make a quick return, however with the first example being a very common possibility, you might get lucky and sell your domain for thousands... Domains are only valued at what people will pay for them !!!

Now if your selling your domain and you have a index page up selling products and or services and your trying to have someone take off the domain from you then the question becomes... Does this domain have the traffic as being indicated... most of the times not...

It is better to keep your domain(s), if they have valuable traffic.

Well this is my :2 cents: ,

:upsidedow

.

Wow - I never said I knew anything about branding, I'm not sure where you got that idea from. I wrote - I have a one word domain which I think would be easily brandable.

I'm not using these domains and thought maybe they might be worth something. Thanks for the replies though people :thumbsup
