Gift ideas
 
One of my little sisters is graduating with her Doctorate on Monday, and I am not sure what kind of graduation present you should get a 40 year old. $20 and a card doesn't seem right.

I was thinking maybe a girt certificate to a book store. What do you think?

baddog, has she got anything that she's really wanted/wanted to do during the time of grad school? maybe something to help pay for a trip or something she's really wanted but had to do without because she was sacrificing for school. :2 cents:

you are right on 50% of those! good job! i am a girl, i do type in pink...however, innocence is not a quality of mine i have ever claimed (nor am i certain what it means) and as far as fake - i'm a real person, but i do have fake boobs. i assume that's what you meant.

She is 40, and married . . . I will let her husband take care of any voyages. I don't think they really have to "do without" much (homeowers, new cars, etc, etc)

do a combination of things, get her one of those ipods and load it with a book that you think she might like or give it with a itunes gift card. you can get an ipod for under $100 these days. i think an ipod loaded with something would be a cool gift it shows you put some thought into it as well.

She has had problems with her ears since she was little . . . I have my doubts that she puts things in her ears, so don't think it would be practical.

well with the gift card you can always buy any of the audiobooks, music, movies or whatever to use on your computer, burn to cd, dvd or whatever you want. not just transfer to an ipod only.
