House payment < car payment?

I am looking at purchasing another house and was surprised to see that my monthly payments would be less than a moderate car payment.

Simply amazing.

You still in CA BD?

We're looking for a new place in LA county/SF Valley and I wish that was the case for us..

But your house payments last 30 years and your car payments just a few years.

Yeah, I am looking at buying another place in Indiana. I can buy a 3,000 sq ft pad for about a decent down payment amount out here. :1orglaugh

Very few cars appreciate in value.

there are a lot of places in the midwest you can get a really nice house for a great price when you are comparing to so cal and in the major metro areas.

My monthly house payment is more than the value of most people's cars.....

MicroChick 05-12-2007 10:19 PM

dog, can you give us a little more information?

What exactly do you get for $100,000? I checked out property in Indiana, and I found that it depends on where the property is located in the state.

JP513 05-12-2007 10:40 PM

House payment less than a "moderate" car payment? A trailer? LOL.

That's because no one wants to live in Indiana.

My entire family has stayed in Indiana. Different strokes for different folks.

Indiana is better than many states. A long time ago I thought the best places to live would be the beachy areas and the big exciting cities. HA.

I was wrong. Cities are full of dirty air, illegal immigrants, traffic, crime, and nasty people who lie and steal.

Indiana has some beautiful hilly areas in Brown County near Indiana University. As long as they don't experience major droughts like Australia, it is a green state with a lot of good people.

You would be surprised. People commute from there to Chicago. I would not be surprised to see a spurt in property values in that area.

Oh, I am not arguing with you at all. I have to drive to Chicago almost as often as I have to drive to LA, and LA is an easier drive.

I wish they would finish up that construction they have going on . . . it even confuses the GPS.

There is a law in Illinois, that clearly states..Road construction will go on forever. So what they do is purposely make them substandard so every 4-5 years they can tear them up and rebuild them again. Then they raise the tolls to pay for it.

ah, that explains that . . . I always wondered why the toll roads seemed to be in worse condition than any of the others.

That's pretty amazing indeed...
