    how many clicks are possible from one IP?

    Let me rephrase that:

    How many legitimate clicks do you think are possible from one surfer (one IP)? Also, how long does a surfer stay on your site?

    I have been recording all the click-thrus produced on my site from each IP and I have some pretty high numbers, some are over 100. Also, I have records of a surfer producing clicks one hour after his first click.

    I have to block hit bots from going wild on my sites, but I'm not sure at what point is fair. From what I can see, about 40% of surfers click nothing (probably thanks to all the blind links to me), about 30% click once (then get pissed off that it was a blind link and leave), and about 10% click twice. That's about 80% of all traffic. I know I should probably cut off the ones clicking 100 times off my site, but at what point do I start cutting the clicks off? 50? 20? 10? 5?

              Now seriously -Just so you will know - assuming all clicks are legitimate - they most probably come from what is called a proxy (/proxy server).
              In short: Proxy is a internet mechanism that concentrates requests from people on different IPs and contacts sites they want to for them - so instead of seeing the real people IPs you see the IP address of the proxy.
              This may be done for many reasons: Privacy, security, caching etc...
              Another reason is - cheating
              What cheaters do - is use a proxy to hide their IP (so you cant track them). In a more technically advanced way - it also enables them to spoof their IP so not even the proxy can detect them...
              Their (the cheaters) assumption is - that you wont block the proxy IP because you dont want to loose possible legitimate users...

              In reality - fuck assumptions.. Block the motherfucker. (atleast for a while)

                      I really think its hard to tell, i have some '100+ click surfers' with traffic i bought from Choker ... And i DONT think choker is selling hitbot traffic ...
