Getting a green card in the USA
 

in the process of adjusting and they now require a physical examination... did anybody ever take this examination and did it include a drug test?

lol @ the drug test part...

I've known a few people who have taken the exam.. they said it was pretty easy.. no mention of a drug test this aint baseball :winkwink:

yea but i read that drug abuse and drug addiction might cause a problem... not sure if they look for this or just determine it by the way you act... im not a drug addict or anything, occasional weed scyphers with the fellas on a sunday night

I have been thru this and can confirm the drug test.

As I understand it if you fail you generally get a second attempt. This is the "addiction" determination. But then recent nonsense like this:

There is a drug test. They test urine and blood as far as I understand.

What examination?You send request and then you either get it or not.

Was no drug test prior to 911, I cant say for what they have changed since then though.

I think you are referring to a visa, not a green card. Whole different ball o wax.

so what does a greencard enable you to do then?

Do your self a favor. While in the US, trying to get a green card, try sticking to the laws. Don't break them. Play the game Wave the US Flag. then when you have the coveted blue passport in a few years do any stupid shit you think you can get away with if it pleases you.

Makes you legal, you can get a bank account, you can work, you can study, and you can get social security.

When i applied for mine, they did a complete background check and a full medical with X-rays. If you have a history of crime ( i dont mean parking tickets ) or any serious medical condition you will not get a card. After all you cannot blame America for not wanting sick felons here can you ...

i can understand the felons part, but whatever happened to:

i don't see how smoking a joint, or taking lsd makes you a bad person, or a threat to society.
