Fake TGP?
 

It almost seems like a no-brainer that a fake TGP would be a lot less hassle to run than a regular TGP. You don't have to review any submissions and once you automate things up front you wouldn't have to do much work as far as keeping the site running and updated. And of course every sale goes to you. So are there downsides? What are they?

No downsides, imho.
Get a copy of TGP Rotator and give it a try :)

The downside is that you only use sponsor content and galleries, both are all over the internet...

Plus the time you'd spend approving submitted galleries is replaced with time you spend finding new FHG's, importing, and cropping them. vicd hit it dead on though, the TGP market is already incredibly saturated with affiliate galleries that you'll likely bore the majority of your surfers, especially if you trade with other fake TGPs using the same or similar affiliate content.

I see, that makes sense. The thing is though, I'm a programmer and I kind of enjoy writing code to automate importing stuff. On the other hand, I HATE repetitive busywork such as manually approving galleries.

I guess I'll just have to focus on getting a good variety of less well-known content.

Incorrect. There's nothing stopping you from using your own (handbuilt or autogenerated) galleries.

I think the last thing surfers want to see is yet another TGP showing the same content they just saw on the last 25 TGPs they looked at. If you can find some new sites with fresh free hosted galleries, then go for it. The key is getting new content.

u-Bob, can you point me to some TGPs that use your rotator program to promote a pay site? I might be interested in setting one up to promote my site and maybe a few sponsors. Thanks.

a "fake tgp" as you call it still needs a lot of work. You always have to be adding/adjusting trades. You can just let a tgp site and expect the trades to grow by themselves.

they work great to promote single paysites as you know all the thumbs are 100% promoting your own work, no one elses, and are a great way to organise your galleries (assuming you have quote a few)

Ive seen a few people now making TGP's solely for their paysite :)

So my plan has changed a little bit. I'm making it a gallery search engine, but the galleries will still all be for sites I am promoting. Once I get it ironed out a bit more, I'll be signing up for LOTS of programs and dumping all the galleries in.

pure Fake TGP is not good idea, I listing submissions from submitters, I have great bookmark potential traffic
