so im thinking of buying one of those scanner/printer/copier/fax in one deals
Its a canon Pixma MP 530. Other than wondering if it is a quality product (is it a good idea getting these "all in one" things) my only other real concern is will i be able to recieve faxes without installing a second phone line? Here is the product in question.

theres a ton a "fax to email" online services so i wouldnt buy it for the fax.
I have bought a few of them ( 3 in 1's ) all were pretty crappy. If its just for fucking around sure. if you want to use it seriously. buy a scanner and printer seperate. |
check out the reviews on cnet, i'm waiting to buy an all in one too but there hasn't been really anything with solid reviews yet. I was thinking of a hp l7580 from staples.ca, I think it has better reviews than the canon. Not sure yet either which one to get.

Most modern faxes should support distinctive ring, so long as your carrier offers it. They assign you a second number that has a different ring pattern which the fax recognises and picks up.

go for it.........

I got a simple HP officejet 5610.... I dont use it THAT much but for simple stuff (scanning docs/pics, priniting and sending fax) its very good, simple fast and easy to use....
