It's all for entertainment. They coerce these guys to the house using questionable methods in the name of producing good TV. The way their system works, the decoy is actually the predator who tries to seduce the men into coming to the house.
It would be illegal for the police to run a sting operation like this on their own, but the PJ decoy isn't with the police so they can use coercion methods. It's really the equivalent of a decoy drug dealer trying to talk you into buying drugs that you don't want, and then when he sells you on them and you give in the police jump out and arrest you. I'm not trying to stick up for these men, but the civilian decoys who are involved with this need to be held to the same laws that the police are. |
