Stealerships are a fkn joke and will only pay you 50% of what its really worth.Auto Trader always worked best for me. :2 cents:

Yeah, i have a car which is 8 months old and they want to pay me $9k below what it was worth. How long did it take you to sell on autotrader?

bogo 05-04-2007 08:21 PM

i sold 2 cars with autotrader in the past and it didnt take more than 2-3 weeks to sell. It was worht it to sell private since i always got close to what i asked for.

Craig's List is the easiest.

I just sold an SUV that way. Easy as pie if you follow these instructions: Get the car cleaned inside and out. Park it in a nice place on a sunny day. Take some digital pictures of it. (Take your time with the pictures; don't take crappy pictures like the other people who are selling cars.) Write a thoughtful description. Tell lots of good lies in the description: The miles were gently placed on the car; they're all highway miles; you don't drive the car that much; it's in excellent condition, etc.

I put my SUV on Craig's List at 2 a.m. and had people e-mailing me about it within minutes. I got about 5-10 phone calls about it each day. I ended up selling it for my asking price on the fourth day to the first guy who e-mailed me.

Good luck.

i have 2 friends that sold their cars on craigslist, 1 got what he listed, 1 took off $200. They both sold in less than 5 days...

vote for craigslist

Auto Trader is more targeted to your Geo market

where do you live? I like autotrader, cars.com, craigslist, any of those are good IMO

I would put a nice simple webpage together with great photos and detailed info and put a link to it on autotrader and craigslist.

I recently sold my mother's old car advertising in free and local papers. Cost me $40 total but it was a little inconvenient having to show it to people who were interested. Fortunately, the 3rd person who came to see it baught it 1 hr later :thumbsup

Cars.com ... Ebay is good too but it seems that you don't get as much as on Cars.com

I sold my SUV today in about 90 mins. Had a garage sale, and put it in the driveway with a for sale sign on it, and sold it pretty fast, for what I was asking for.
