Multi-Blog management tools? + install a skeleton?

Hey guys I have 2 questions:

1. Is there anyway of creating an auto-installer for wordpress+ about 10-15plugins? Is there some way to create a skeleton and just copy it into a bunch of accounts? Fantastico my only option? Thanks.

2. How do you manage all of your blogs? One-by-one basis? Is there anything that you can plug all of your blogs into and manage from there? Any sort of unified stats? (We're using firestats)

Thanks

those links are nice.. any other script that can manage working blogs in one admin? i mean, old blogs. dunno if rss2blog or autoblogger pro can do that.. im tired of managing the network of blogs im working :( would be nice if you can use rss feeds as well and your blogs will be automatically updated.

I use it for just that purpose. Was tired of logging in to tons of different blogs, so I consolidated them all under ABPSA.

To the OP -- you can create a custom WP install with the DB settings you'd like, making a .tar out of the directory and copy the database fairly rapidly. I wrote a script to do it for my purposes (had to install thousands of blogs), but it can also be done by simply un-tarring into the new directories.

Some of those sales pages are cheesy. The programs look good, but I get the impression they're clumsy.

Mr.Nice Guy 05-05-2007 01:28 PM

I get the impression most of the programs are the exact same thing. Just feeder brands for an affiliate program or a main company.

Are you new to the industry, or have you just not dealt with many affiliate programs?

I use http://www.qumana.com works fine for me and its free, it does'nt do installs but is a very handy tool

mattz 05-05-2007 10:47 PM

I use auto blogger pro, it's awesome and gets me my keyword listings in 3-7 days, and indexed in 24 hours usually

... which is why we're under intense pressure to stop selling it or to dramatically increase the price. More on this later. :upsidedow

10 + years, not sure what you consider new ;)

do a google search and compare the results.. programs are basically the same thing. If you thought I was talking about your product, then no I was referring to candyflip's product.

I didn't think you were talking about Autoblogger -- nothing comes close to it. I meant when you said that affiliate programs were behind it, you might be new.

If you meant MAINSTREAM affiliates, then it's possible. A lot of the products out there seem to use the same tired old schtick. A popular "competitor" to ABP (although we blow them out of the water) has a sales page that looks like a late-night commercial. I'd be embarrassed.

Yes I was referring to the mainstream programs.. when I say affiliate program i don't mean an adult affiliate program ;)

I mean company X develops a script and company Y develops 10 brands to sell it to different industries etc.. same script different brand :)

For sure. I'm certain that it's done with one script in particular.
