Who Was Your Favorite Musical Artist In High School?
I have to confess that I was seriously into the hair metal (i.e) Guns N Roses, skid Row, Poison. Tesla, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, However, I still dig those bands... :upsidedow
|
Guns N' Roses is NOT hair metal.
Sorry... I get quite annoyed at that :P :D Guns N' Roses is my all time favorite band :) |

pink floyd.

Slayer, the misfits, pantera, megadeth, and metallica.

I loved many bands and different styles back then, so it's impossible for me to pick just one (I have over 1,000 LPs from that era), but Pink Floyd was always near the top (especially when getting stoned, which was pretty much how I went through "High" School)... :stoned
Dead: Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison (The Doors), Janis Joplin Alive: Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Who, Aerosmith, Montrose Folky: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Eagles Artsy: Genesis (Peter Gabriel era), also King Crimson, ELP, Yes Showy: David Bowie, Alice Cooper Jazzy: Miles Davis, John Coltrane I remember I played Santana and War records a lot too when cruising... I think Welcome to the Jungle as a song, totally sums up the destruction of Hair Metal. The sneering vocals of Axl, the ripping sound of Slash and Izzy twinning guitars, the thundering rock sounds of the Duff's bass ... the groove of Steve Adler's drumming.... No gloss... no bullshit. Just raw dirty rock. I sound like an advert ... but that band meant/means so much to me! :D LOL |
AC/DC & Black Sabbath
