Kaka is number 1.

Angelo22 05-04-2007 07:15 AM

wtf happened, quadruple post?

Sexsitesurfer 05-04-2007 07:17 AM

My heart said Sutton, but my head said Gerrard. He is the most complete footballer on the planet in my opinion and he also drives any team he plays in. Pity England don't drop Lampard and play him in the middle!!!!!

He may not have the skills and speed of Kaka, C Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, but there are games where you see those guys do NOTHING. You will never see that from Gerrard.

Gentle_Ben 05-04-2007 07:24 AM

I love the way Drogba plays. Hes a tank.

Jns999 05-04-2007 07:25 AM

C.Ronaldo plays football very technical style :)

Gambit 05-04-2007 07:31 AM

lmao @ Chris Sutton :winkwink:

And i think at the mo its Kaka.

Complete is the word, the guy is a team player, he is playing with not the best players in the world yet picks them up to a standard by being such a good captain. He has his off games, but when you have to play with the likes of kruyt and crouch, who wouldnt? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I would have him in my team anyday over any of the other players.

You can't of seen Kuyt play live. The guy never ever stops running. He does so much work for the team that you don't see watching it on the letterbox of the TV.

hmmm yeh i watched him live recently and he was good, but i watched him live during the world cup and he was not good at all in my opionion. much better would have been van nisterooy.

v4 media 05-04-2007 07:41 AM

Ronaldinho's been shite all year.
Not Terry, but maybe Carvalho or Carragher.

I personally think Sutton is about 10 years past his greatest form. As for Gerrard replacing Lampard, I do not agree. They make a great duo in the middle and complement each other well. Other than that, yep, I'd have to agree with Gerrard being the most complete footballer currently. Few years ago I would've said Ballack, but while he's still good, I think his game has suffered a bit.

Ross 05-04-2007 07:54 AM

C. Ronaldo. Without a doubt.

In 2 years its gonna be Lionel Messi tho.

footmonkey 05-04-2007 08:03 AM

Seedorf will be player of the match in the champions league final and score the winning goal!

I'd give Gerrard more freedom to drive the game forward and play him with Hargreaves or Carrick sitting back more. Use Joe Cole and Wright Philips or Lennon on the wings and it adds width and speed we are sorely lacking at the moment. Downing is not international standard (from what I've seen).

I think Lampard has had enough chances and f***ed up almost every time in an England shirt. He only performs against lower level nations, so he isn't international class IMO.

Hope Owen can get some speed and sharpness back because Rooney and Crouch isn't good enough, maybe Rooney and Owen would work better.

Just my :2 cents: but I guess I won't be picking the team any time soon....

I'd say the biggest problem in the team is the speed and creativity up-top, not the midfield. And I agree with Crouch not cutting it, surely Rooney would perform better together with Owen.

Eyes_Without_A_Face 05-04-2007 08:56 AM

Messi is the best :)

I have to go with C. Ronaldo

Thrawn$ 05-04-2007 09:24 AM

fucking C Ronaldo

i hate that guy but he's getting better every year

RP Fade 05-04-2007 09:28 AM

I've only been watching the CL since the knockout phase began so based on that, I'd go with Kaka but we'll get to seem them all next year at the World cup :thumbsup

drowsy 05-04-2007 09:38 AM

Thierry Henry

CaptainHowdy 05-04-2007 09:45 AM

Leonel Messi...

he-fox 05-04-2007 09:59 AM

At THIS moment, Kaka. Followed by Drogba.
C. Ronaldo still has to learn to play in a team.
Gerrard is a good midfielder and a great captain, but he doesn`t have the best player's "spark".
Ronaldinho was tired 2nd part of the season, he carried Barca on his shoulders alone on the 1st half.
Messi is talented, but still has to prove many things.

I think Fade is just getting a little mixed up.

Of course Kaka and Brazil will not be in Euro 2008. You'll see them in Copa America tho... think thats 2008 as well?

Thanks..it's hard to keep up with all these different leagues, organizations, federations, etc especially here in the US. But I think some sports channels and satelite providers are going to be broadcasting more international football/soccer :thumbsup

flashfreak 05-04-2007 10:38 AM

C Ronaldo without doubt

scottybuzz 05-04-2007 01:34 PM

bump for the night crew

falcao 05-04-2007 01:53 PM

Winner: CRISTIANO RONALDO. Look, nobody loves Kaka more than I do. The guy is pure class and will be remembered decades from now for what he's doing. But at the moment, the best player of the year is Cristiano Ronaldo. He does it all: scores with his head and both feet, takes free kicks and penalties, scores last-minute goals to grab points, sets up goals.

Please, people, stop wasting your time by voting for one-dimensional players like Drogba. And get over the fact Messi scored one attention-grabbing goal; he's done nothing else all year. The only magic Ronaldinho is performing this year is his vanishing act. Adriano? I'm an Inter fan, but give me a break. Cech is the best goalie in the world, but he can't be the best player in the world because he's missed to much time. Steven Gerrard is pure class all the way and is England's best player. The other clowns on the list aren't worth mentioning.

Unlimited 05-04-2007 02:41 PM

voted for Gerrard :)

Scott McD 05-04-2007 03:15 PM

So i take it you guys are Villa fans then ? (going by the inclusion of Sutton)

Sutton rocks though. He had a few great years here at Celtic :thumbsup

As for best player, i'd have to say C. Ronaldo. I've watched alot of Man U games this season, and he's always stood out a mile. Didn't have the best game against Milan there, but nobody in the Man U team really had a good game then either. So he gets my vote.

Followed by Shunsuke Nakamura :pimp

https://youtube.com/watch?v=SatTY...elated&search=

I'll remember that goal and how i celebrated it for the rest of my life... :thumbsup
