Getting drunk with your 18 year old daughter.
 

Went out on a date last night with a old GF of mine I saw Saturday at a reunion party. Haven't seen her in 12 years (yes she's still hot)

Anyways we stopped at a bar called Tap Room in Montreal to see if some of our old gang would be around. Got in and indeed some where around but I was amazed to see one of my buddy doing shooters with his 18 year old daughter. Mind you the girl is smart and doesn't look like trash at all, I just thaught it was weird to see my buddy partying with his daughter like that.

I went to a strip club with my dad recently. Is that wrong? Below what age would that be wrong?

i recenlty went on holiday with a father on son he was 18, no big deal at all, we all went to clubs and stuff. just depends on the relationship betweeen the 2. personaly I would love it, but my dad isnt the type to go clubbing and doing shooters.

I agree but what about the fact that there is a bad example being set here. Its one thing to let your kid have a drink at home or when the family goes out to dinner but doing shots with your kid in public when they are barely even considered an adult ???? well I don't know if thats such a good idea.

I'd love to have that kind of relationship with my girls when they turn 18 that they'd still think I was cool enough to hang out with.

My dad and I used to go to bars all the time, and I get drunk at family gatherings all the time (but that's just because I can't handle them when I'm sober). Not a big deal.

Maybe he wants to bang one of his daughters hot friends.

Better the parent teach about tipping, safe amount to drink, quality drinks, etc than try and learn from stupid friends. I'm always amazed by how stupid people get at a bar, there's some simple rules I picked up that make you look much better even while you drink.

I'm sure they both got back to the trailer safely, thats all thats important.

I am in on this. I would want my kids to party with me than out of control with others. You need to teach your kids to be responsible. Better you than someone else.

I can only hope my 3 will want to party with them when they get that old.

I'll still be able to do it of course, it is more whether they want their old man there.

I think it's cool.

I personally would feel very awkward partying or getting trashed with my parents. A few drinks, absolutely, no problem. Getting wasted? Eh... it definitely depends on the relationship. I look at my parents more as mentors than friends... I prefer it that way.

My dad always told me growing up "it isn't my job to be your buddy, its my job to be your dad."

See nothing wrong with it, its cool they have that type of relationship its rare.

He must be much happier to have his daughter drinking with him than say with 3 horny teenagers of the girl's age...

No way I'd be doing shooters with my daughter. First time when my father asked me if I wanted a beer was when I graduated from the Uni.

I used to with both my parents when I was younger than 18 at home and the occasional restaurant glass of wine. Now I go to clubs with my mom every once in a while. I see no bad examples there, for a young adult it shows they trust you and they are human beings too. :2 cents:
