How many breakups/divorces do you think MySpace has Caused...

I hear a lot of stories about that shit...Isn't crazy that Tom is responsible for so many breakups and divorces.

Oh well, more money for the attorneys. :winkwink:

vladdy daddy 05-03-2007 02:25 AM

Almost caused it for me like 10 times, always remember to log out lol

aico 05-03-2007 02:35 AM

I don't blame MySpace, I blame society & people who try to make it seem like you need to get married.

If you need a piece of paper to make your relationship more meaningful, then your relationship is already lacking.

This is true to an extent, but you have to take into the consideration the sacred tradition of getting married. There are not only pressures from religion but also society. Call me old fashioned but i totally believe and support the idea of being married :2 cents:.

Call me cynical, but the "idea" and the reality of marriage are not the same. :2 cents:

It depends on who you are. To me it is pretty simple, you get married and you keep your dick in your pants. It is no different then any other commitment in your life. The problem is not with marriage, it's with the dumb asses who think they are in love but aren't man enough to make sacrifices, like keeping their dick in their pants, that give marriage a bad name. If people these days would take responsibility for their actions and stop blaming everyone else for their problems and taking the easy way out the world would be a much better place. The first sign of trouble and the throw in the towel. No one knows what hard work is anymore and a marriage takes work.

Sarah_Jayne 05-03-2007 03:28 AM

Most of those probably weren't great relationships before Myspace came into the equation.

skinnay 05-03-2007 03:51 AM

+1 for me lol

I think the problem is that you're asking a man to do something that he was not designed to do. Of all my friends who got married, the only ones that are still married are the ones with open relationships

I don't think it's manly to make sacrifices, I think it's manly to do what you want and not have to make any sacrifices. You only live once, why not live it doing what you want, who you want, when you want.

Make divorce illegal, then lets see how many people get married.

TGPFactoryMike 05-03-2007 04:12 AM

I hardly agree that making sacrifices is anything but manly. You mean to tell me that all the vets that went to WWII and made a sacrifice for their country weren't manly? You think that the guy that is working two jobs each 40 hours a week to feed his family is not manly. The guy that isn't a man is the guy that sits on his fat ass collecting his welfare check and not taking responsibility for his actions. A real man stands up for what he believes in whatever the cost. You find someone that just whatever he wants all day and he is either a celebrity or a bum end of story. Life is about struggle and doing things that you don't want to. It's the small things in life like marriage and children that make it worth it. And know that you worked hard and earned what you have and stood up for what you believed in. That is way more gratifying then sticking it in some slut for a worthless fuck one night when you are drunk. And to say it is out of character for a man to be committed to a relationship, look at all the happily married couples in the world right now. The divorce rate is totally messed up because of all the people that should never get married but do 3 or 4 times and divorce each time. There are way more happily married couples then there are divorced.

I am sorry to hear that life has been a struggle for you. I am also sorry you have to be drunk to fuck sluts and then consider it to have been worthless. I do think that it's ironic how you compare marriage to going to war and having to work two jobs though. Seems to be a pattern in there somewhere.

BlackCrayon 05-03-2007 05:11 AM

If it wasn't myspace it would of been something else.

aico 05-03-2007 05:15 AM

oh and if Marriage and Children are the small things in life, what the hell are the big things?

Star 69 05-03-2007 05:29 AM

Never heard such stories about divorces caused by MySpace

Pipecrew 05-03-2007 05:36 AM

i was just reading a facebook wall of some girl i dated last year, so obvious that bitch was up to no good that whole time.

Murderous 05-03-2007 05:40 AM

MySpace has caused a couple for me. Find them on myspace, lose them on myspace lol.

flogmolly 05-03-2007 06:04 AM

myspace is the devil. I would never use it. putting your information out there for the world to see is just dumb.

That's not cynical ... it's short sightedness ... because not everyone has the view and you need to remember that ....

You can't go around telling people they got married based on a flakey relationship ... which is essentially what you're saying!

BVF 05-03-2007 06:40 AM

this is why you keep your myspace profile private and rigorously screen anyone that you allow as a friend...

I've gotten in a fight with 3 different girls I was dating because of comments left on my page. Some chicks are crazy. They think just cause someone leaves a comment that means I'm banging them.

Exactly, I've said it all along.

MySpace ruins Lives
Facebook ruins Relationships.

I believe Facebook will up Myspace on ruined relationships on the long run do to the school searching tool it has. Nothing like old flames hooking back up again

CDSmith 05-03-2007 08:32 AM

"How many breakups/divorces do you think MySpace has Caused... "

None that weren't going to eventually happen anyway.

RP Fade 05-03-2007 08:36 AM

Never used or even looked into Myspace, chatrooms, dating sites, or anything of the sort except for business reasons. Been happilly married for 3 years and it's not that I'm afraid of temptation, I have the most amazing wife and a beautiful newborn son who are both the reasons I wake up with a smile and motivation every day.

Even if I were single or looking, i'm just generally a very private person and I just dont have time to BS, audition myself, have a cool profile, have alot of web 'friends' and have links to the 'in' and popular cyber-crowd. Maybe I'm past the targetted market demographics for sites like that..

Jman 05-03-2007 08:37 AM

Don't know about divorces but I've been email a few times by member from Inkednation.com thanking us cause they met someone threw the site and got married.

carol.prime 05-03-2007 08:46 AM

i do have not any idea bout that..the only thing that i can say is: marriage makes the two person bind us one...it is a gift form God that couples should protect and respect..having a family was the most responsibility..no one shall break them apart..having a good marriage life is the same as having a meaningful life..

Cassie 05-03-2007 08:47 AM

myspace hasn't cause relationships to fail, it's the two people in the relationship that has caused it to fail.

You should take heed of your own words... or maybe you're just shortsighted as well.

oh my god you are all a bunch of retards, anyone who seriously thinks that myspace ruined a relationship is a prick and obviously doesnt realise that the relationship prob wasnt worth shit to begin with.
for starters ya BF/GF should trudt ypu enough to not worry about what you may or may not be doing on myspace.
secondly it is my opinion that most of the things ppl say on myspace should be t5aken with a pinch of salt

And?

BTW if YOU'RE going to try to insult someone, you should 1) Learn to spell and 2) make sure they care what you think.

You're 0 for 2.
