Don't buy gas on May 15th

WE CAN DO IT!!!

Not asking for much!

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007: Please do not pump gas on May 15th ...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take

$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May

15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern

Oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to your entire contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

And on May 16 the oil companies get that money right back.

no shit whats the point. if you dont buy gas that day, you will the next. if your going to cry over the price of gas use public transportation.

I fully knew buying my car it was going to eat more gas then my previous one. I could of bought a hybrid or an electric car, but I didnt, so i dont cry about the price of gas. When it gets to a point that is out of control, I will do something else.

MikeVega 05-02-2007 04:17 PM

these things are so silly .. if anyone was to take this serous they would be filling up the day before so they have gas .. it has no effect in the end. unless everyone car pools or takes a bike you're still using the same amount of gas. I'd love to see proof of the gas drop after the last one. people start these chain mails for some odd reason and people pass them on for an even odder reason. I'll be getting gas just like any other day ... Sorry :( If you want to make a difference get a Hybrid or take a bike to work.

fake fake fake fake fake fake fake

RedShoe 05-02-2007 04:21 PM

fuck it. I'll go one step further. I won't buy gas for my truck for the next 2 months!

I'll walk everywhere I need to go, or take any one of my other cars. But still. truck, gas, NO MORE!

chaze 05-02-2007 04:30 PM

true it might not effect much financially but it will let the oil companies know how we feel. I got this from 4 different people and 3 of them didn't know each other and only one was from myspace.

I wouldn't give a shit if i didn't get it from so many people that I respect.

if nothing else just do it for fun. The oil companies are laughing at us for paying high prices and knowing we can't do anything about it. Why not do something to fuck with them.

Trust me if oil companies or say wall mart had a day with almost no sales they would shit there britches.

JasonB 05-02-2007 04:32 PM

these things never work

Scott McD 05-02-2007 04:34 PM

We tried that here in the UK a few years ago.

All it caused was mile long queues with people filling up their cars. It achieves nothing.

Still sucks though...

TurboAngel 05-02-2007 04:37 PM

I wish it could be that easy.

:(

chaze 05-02-2007 05:22 PM

So we just sit and be their little bitch? I would rather stir things up even if it's not for sure going to help.

This is some seriously faulty logic right here. The only way this would work is if every Internet user bought gas EVERY day.

JohnnyPearl 05-02-2007 05:28 PM

I fill up once a week at the pumps. So lets hope May 15th is on one of those days I don't need to fill up.

baddog 05-02-2007 06:22 PM

I can't believe the number of webmasters that still read and believe chain letters.

Chaze, if you want to make a difference, get rid of the car and limit your transportation to public, or your bike.

jesse_adultdatingdollars 05-02-2007 06:23 PM

Oil companys suck dick

notabook 05-02-2007 06:26 PM

Oh my fucking god what happened to people using logic? Not buying gas for one day does absolutely NOTHING. If you got enough people to stop buying gas (i.e. to stop using their vehicles) for several months or more you may see something happen but a day is so fucking stupid.

bdld 05-02-2007 06:27 PM

that's probably the day i'll get gas, there'll be no lines.

what would you do without them?

bobbyjuly 05-02-2007 07:17 PM

What difference does it make? the year around supply and demand will not be effected by this one day move. It is useless i think.

Sell your 5lt v8 SUV and start driving around with a hybrid or 2door japanese car, that makes much more sense.

Randyyy 05-03-2007 12:00 AM

this is stupid, like it's really gonna make a difference?

jonesonyou 05-03-2007 12:01 AM

yeah but they still are making the money as long as we are driving

I would say its hilarious, but it's crossed the threshold of just being sad.
