Yep, that's right. Today I noticed a charge on my credit card from an airline in Ireland, so I looked into it and discovered some dumbass bought a plane ticket for a trip in late May. I was able to track down all his personal information, address in Ireland and everything, but there's nothing I can do about it. My credit card company said they would credit the transaction, but could do nothing else. They said, call the police...so I did! The police said, nothing we can do and even the FBI won't be able to help. WTF, I've got a Tony Brophy at 3 Carriglea Avenue in Dublin Ireland taking a flight from Riga to Dublin on my credit card and there's not a damn thing I can do but let him go. That's some fucked up shit there!

BTW, if anyone knows this guy, let me know. This credit card was only used once prior, for an adult website in the UK. I might be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tony Brophy worked for the billing company.

wow, credit card fraud is out of control, theres just so much of it and nothing gets done about it.

the best they can do is reimburse the account.

I doubt the personal information you got him is correct. May be you can try contacting Ireland local police?

You would think they could at least try...seeing as you have a possible address! That is really scary, and it just shows how close an eye you need to keep on your statements!

can't they just call the customs/police at the airport so they can pick him off the flight when he arrives in Dublin and arrest him for creditcard fraud

Contact the Airline. The fight is in the future right?
If you are getting credited, then you have documentation of fraud, they will do something and he will be on a no fly watch list until his kids fart dust.

The sky marshal can arrest him as soon as he takes his assigned seating.
If he is buying a ticket under an assumed or fraudulent name, he could be a terrorist threat:thumbsup

If I lived in Ireland you can guarantee I'd be there waiting on him. Unfortunately that's about my only option from what the authorities tell me. If they spent more time going after scum like this instead of worrying about pornography the world would be a much better place! The problem is where the crime was commited, because it's over the internet nobody wants to take responsibility.

Security is a bitch these days! I've been in adult for about 10 years, and have no intentions of leaving....but unfortunately after this experience I'll be weary of ever joining another site again, or even making an online purchase. This is scary shit, luckily I was able to catch it and cancel the card before anything else happened.

Can't be the same Tony Brophy. This Tony looks like he's got a good job and accreditations to go with it. I'd think people who usually pull CC scams are poor and uneducated.

Even if it isn't him there is a chanche he might have an interest is using his name or someonein his city has the same name and is pulling scams with it...
