Should I attempt to sell my sig?
Or do you guys think that its still too soon? I think I might need a high post count to get any decent $ but I have seen some sigs on gfy sell with smaller post counts.
|
Not worth it.
Been trying a week. |
How come?
|
Nobody really seems interested.
I mean hell, I have over 3700 and been here 4 years, no buyers. |
Thats true, however I guess it all depends on who you are, what your posts are like, how often you post, it seems like the people that actually do well with there sigs are extremly active here on GFY.
|
That is true, and I have noticed that it is harder to stay ahead of the game these days. I mean some of the top posters and sig whores have upwards of 10,000 posts, so even if you wait until you hit 5k you will still have troubles selling for a good price. Then again you may be able to sell for low, like $20-$30 or so. I am asking $300, but only cause I have a decent knowledge of the business and the people in it, and I can post in more lucrative threads.... bottom line is nobody really cares about sigs anymore unless they are in NEED of the exposure.
Used to be they would advertise in your sig for extra exposure, but it would seem that some don't want it these days. Tough market, sigs, lol. |
Why would you sell your sig when you work for a company ??
|
Our sigs belong to us, not our companies. If the company we work for wants to pay us, they are more than welcome. Just cause you work for someone does not mean they own you.

I would not hire anyone that sold their sig, makes you look like a sig whore that only posts to make 50 bucks a month.

I am here to line MY pockets, not theirs.

My sig belongs to me. I'm the one thats invested the time into it and all the writing, its mine. I do with it what I want. Thats why you see it change so much. Whatever makes me the most for the space goes there. Until September I will be running multiple things in my sig until Shanes World V2.0 is ready and then I will be dedicating that space to it for a few months.
NEVER MAKE YOUR SIG PART OF A DEAL AS FAR AS EMPLOYMENT especially if you can get 2k for it or more per month. Thats money left on the table, well, unless you've worked that into your contract for whatever project you are working on as revenue. :2cents |

Good theories and advice everyone, thank you for sharing them :)
|
I just sold my design company and I am still working under them until they get everything rolling. But even when I was working for xlabor I would use my afiliate ID in my sig.
I understand if you are PR for a company or deal with customer service or if you are a sles rep, but NO company should use the sigs as a stipulation and force those to fly the company flag. Unless there is a conflict of interest, such as a sales rep for sponsor A flying a refcode for sponsor B. |

murderous and northernfantasy - I suggest you to buy each other's sig for 10 bucks, just to boost your moral.
|
I wouldn't even bother, unless you are looking at getting $10/month...

I'll give you $25 for it right now...so long as you fix all that shit in your sidebar.
