    OK, so here I am, at GFY, a bit pissed.

    A woman in this article supports making the use of the word, frankly I'm not comfortable typing it even on this forum, the n-word, illegal.

    If we make said word illegal, where does it stop? And to what end? What an incredibly slippery slope. Some people have no foresight.

    I don't give a fuck how offensive a word is to you. No one is going to allow a law to be passed that bans your fucking word. And no one cares about your fucking word either. NO ONE WOULD USE THE FUCKING WORD IF YOU DIDN'T MAKE SO MUCH SHIT ABOUT IT.

    My proposal is this: ignore the damn word. Once people stop getting the reaction from using the damn word, they will stop using the damn word.

                                              Illegal ... under the laws of what country? No chance.

                                              OK.. This lady wants it "banned" because it reminds her of lynchings and abuse of black folks in the US. Fine - there is also another side where this is black history and all the more reason not to forget the conduct of "white masters".

                                              Not connected, but a similar scenario - a few black folks in one country wanted to remove all the sugar cane mills from the slave days - that was until they were reminded that was part of their heritage and something not to be forgotten - ever.

                                              Can see the lady's point - and both sides, but smell us "white honkey's" need to keep learning a lesson from the past - and black folks don't need to forget either
