do you have a script, or a tut on wmv?

SmokeyTheBear 05-01-2007 12:24 AM

ill give you a breakdown of how.. videos themselves cant popup anything, its the software playing the video that you trigger with certain events..

so with most video types the popups are triggered by text xontaining the popup being read by the software ( mostly in windows media player and quicktime )

theres also drm..

and the third way is with "playlist files" , these files contain shortcuts, of urls to other video files or playlists to stream several videos at once )

windows media player playslist files can contain a number of different types of media including flash , pictures and audio.. because the macromdia flash engine is required to run flash in windows media player popups can be set in flash and run as a video or audio

theres only 3 ways i know of in windows media player. none of which are very effective for most p2p

#1 drm
#2 script injection ( most wmp11 will have script injection blocked )
#3 faking the real filetype

How do you pop something up in .avi? I thought it didn't support scripting. Do you rename some other extension into .avi and let windows media player take care of it?

no theres a way to trick wmp10 and under into thinking a file is an avi without showing the message " warning this file has an incorrect extension etc "

I've seen wmv, asx and mov. I'm just not sure how to inject them.

i wonder if something like this can be pulled off in the new version, that'd rock.
