Do you ever feel obligated to watch sequels?
Nowadays, I hate watching sequels. I feel like they just show the same shit with different jokes/deaths (depending on what you are watching).
Maybe I'm too jaded to the formulas. Boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl again. With Spiderman a few days away, I really couldn't care less to see it. I have absolutely no interest in seeing it. I know most of the makeup fx people that worked on it, and I even liked the first one, but it's all just the same shit to me. Lot's of eye candy but not much more. My wife and cousin and everyone else I know are excited to see it. I don't get it. That said... I'm FUCKING COMPELLED to watch the hellraiser sequels. They suck. They ALL SUCK beyond 2, and my ex boss directed #4, AND IT STILL SUCKED. I don't know what it is, each one is shittier than the last, but I feel obligated to watch them. Like I invested the time in watching the first 4, so now I gotta watch the next 4. They suck, and I know they suck, but I can't NOT watch them. Do you ever feel obligated to watch a shitty sequel? |

Lately though, I must admit, I am kinda curios to see whatever happened to the breakfast club. I would like to see a movie of how they all turned out (as characters, not as washed up actors). Like did the jock and shut in get married? Whatever happened to the nerd? Did Carl ever fuck with Dick later? Whatever happened to Dick? Did the criminal and the princess ever hook up? Did they all go their separate ways?
I'M CURIOUS! I think a cool sequel to that would be to pick up on Monday when they were all back in school, so we get to see them again, then flash forward to a more present time to see how they turned out. |
Not very often these days because they tend to not really be continuations of the story now but more the same story with a different location or something.
I did feel the need to see Clerks 2 because Clerks is my favorite film but I ended up wishing I hadn't seen it. |
I have to watch sequels if they go to the theater. I don't know why, I am compelled to. If the movie is a straight to video sequel though... I could care less about it. Strange how that works.

That's funny. I remember i use to BEG for a company to do a spiderman movie years and years ago....and i'll never forget the day i heard the movie was being made. How excited i was. But my god, what a piece of shit movie it turned out to be....along with the absolute lamest dialouge...i swear, i felt like i was watching a movie made for 2nd graders...(maybe i was?) I could barely make it through the fucking movie listening to the aweful shit spewing out of everyones mouth, I mean, who wrote this nonsense? My god that dialouge was horrid. It was a joke and fucking disgrace to the spiderman character. And don't get me started on the storyline translation...let alone the actors. I have NO IDEA how people are excited about it....it baffles me to no end... |
I love sequel......it will be great if they would male a sequuel of scarface...
|
for me, it depends on the movie sequel... if it's not that interesting, better watch CSI or Amazing race... :D
