WiFi Skype Phone
 

Anyone using one of these hotspot wifi phones when they travel? I am thinking about picking one up but have no idea if there is one that is better.

Belkin, Linksys, SMC, Netgear & Panasonic all make them.

seems like a good idea, but nowadays any 3g cell works wherever so whats the point.

Cost for one, if you are out of the country. The other reasonable option is local simcards...

Yes local simcard is one of the variant. If you have no cheap roaming

One of the Nokia's has wifi built into a cellphone.

Also, PSP's will soon be able to use voip :)

Looks like I will be sticking with my unlocked GSM phones and local sim cards...

Are skype calls encrypted or can someone sniffing an open access point hear your conversation?
