New England Patriots win the 2008 Superbowl

I hate to say this because I'm a dolphins fan, but nobody is going to be able to stop the Pats this year.

They just got Randy Moss for a 4th round pick.

They are the scariest team in football right now by far.

Leads me to believe the rumors are true that Bellicheck is going to retire at the end of the season and they're stocking the roster to make a super bowl run this year.

Furious_Male 04-29-2007 10:00 AM

They certainly did make some of the best off season moves in the league. Moss "could" be the icing on the cake if he doesn't mess with the team dynamic.

Last year many thought Miami was going to take it all with there off season moves. Talent has to translate onto the field. We will see.

I can say as a Bills fan enduring more rebuilding crap I am not looking forward to seeing NE this year 2 times.

Penthouse Tony 04-29-2007 10:04 AM

Pats are going to be unstoppable I agree.

What do you think about the fins taking ginn with the 9th. pick?

GAMEFINEST 04-29-2007 10:38 AM

Pats will be a ELITE TEAM again

I think it was a reach at #9....but now that I've had time to think about it, Ginn was their guy and there was no way to trade out of that spot.
The only guy people would be willing to trade up for at that point would be Brady Quinn, and as we saw the next 10 teams didn't want him.

I guess they figured Ginn and Beck is a better combo than Quinn and whatever WR they could have got with pick #40.....they've definitely done a good job of upgrading the team's speed, which seems to be their focus in this draft.

Kard63 04-29-2007 12:06 PM

The did some great things in the off-season the least of which was getting Moss. If they win the SB they will have to drop Randy.

Scott McD 04-29-2007 12:11 PM

So i should get my money on them then ?? ;-)

MissMina 04-29-2007 12:31 PM

Goooooooooooooooooooooo Pats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

StickyGreen 04-29-2007 12:40 PM

lmao, Moss is fucking washed up. We have JaMarcus Russell to throw to Jerry Porter and now Mike Williams and whoever else we can pick up...

CDSmith 04-29-2007 12:43 PM

I'll believe it when I see it.

I say the niners are going to surprise everyone. :D

I definitely think it was a reach, he could have very easily been available 10-15 picks later, but altleast we went after offense which is what we DESPERATELY needed.

spanky part 2 04-29-2007 02:01 PM

I predict a Saints = Pats superbowl.

sandman! 04-29-2007 02:53 PM

Fuck that bears will take it this year finally.

TGVinny 04-29-2007 03:44 PM

The Pats do look like they're going to have a great team, but there are still a lot of off season transactions! Plus, Moss, now in his 30's coming off the worse seasons of his career, plus being plagued with that Hamstring problem (from his MN days) could be coming to the tail end of his career. I hope he's not, but most receivers have their prime in from 24-30. Plus Tom Brady has great accuracy but doesn't have the "long ball" that's one of his biggest flaws as a QB. Plus Stallworth and Moss are horrible route runners that hate going across the middle. Not only that they hate hitting the deep cross when there are hard hitting Safeties around. Regardless, defense has always been the name of their game and the reason why they win so many games. There offense is greatly improved and 4th round pick for Moss is a hell of a deal (but Moss was cancer to Oakland, it's hard to say since Oakland is worse than some NCAA teams) but their defense is what wins them games! However, there are teams that will surprise a lot of people especially if they sign the right free agents.

Leads everyone else to believe he's going nowhere.. he set them up to own next years draft 2 #1's 2 #2's and 3 #3's i believe

Yeah, and not just offense, but hella fast stretch the field offense.
We haven't had players like that since Marino's early years.

I think it was a good trade for the Raiders based on the earlier deal they made.

They got Mike Williams and Josh McCown for Randy Moss (basically).

The Raiders are still a couple of good offseasons away from being good though IMO. Moss may only have 1 or 2 good years left but that's all the Pats need from him, and it only cost them a 4th rounder.

who the hell would want to play hard for them?

dynastoned 04-29-2007 08:10 PM

this is the best move the raiders have made in the last 5 years hands down.

Slick 04-29-2007 09:58 PM

This will be the year that the Dallas Cowboys retake the thrown as Super Bowl Champs :)

I'm not just saying it because I'm a Cowboys fan, but you've gotta admit that they've got their shit together. Just as long as the new coach doesn't fuck things up.

Slick 04-29-2007 09:59 PM

Speaking of Moss, it's a shame that he didn't go to the Packers like the rumors said. I think that the Packers were stupid for not trying to get him, he definately would've made an impact there.

tony286 04-29-2007 10:15 PM

Thats a strong predication

Bears won't even make the playoffs. You seem to forget they have Grossman as their qb. Last year was total luck.

I didn't forget. They've made alot of shrewd moves this offseason, this is just the latest and definitely icing on the cake. They're going to have one hell of a receiving corps next year to go along with an improved defense....and they were 12-4 last year.

Makes me sick.
