Any Mexican beer come in kegs?

A buddy wants to have a Cinco de Mayo party, and said he wanted to get a keg of Corona.

I told him I did not recall ever seeing Corona in a keg, but upon further thought, I don't recall ever seeing any Mexican beer in kegs.

Have you?

yes tecate and dos equis as far as i know are the only ones. i used to be a merchandising manager for coors and we distributed both.

Stick with Tecate. One of the best beers around.

The heat must be getting to you . . . Of the two, Dos XX dark is the only that is drinkable.

I have seen Mexican beer in kegs, however I have never seen Corona in a keg.

For a party of 20 your probably going to want a half keg or even a quarter keg.

1 half keg = 29.3369415 liters
1 quarter keg = 14.6684707 liters

Tecate, or Dos Equiis Amber
YUM

ztik 04-27-2007 04:28 PM

3 x's is pretty good taste about like corona

aico 04-27-2007 04:30 PM

Dos Equis comes in a keg, Modelo comes in a keg, Tecate comes in a keg.

Corona does not come in a keg. It wouldn't be corona if it did, their trademark taste in UV tainted, which gives it that skunky taste. They actually pass the clear bottles (a beer no no) thru UV lights to give it that distinct taste. Being in a keg would not allow for that.

if your trying to have Cinco De Mayo with Corona, I suggest a large steel bucket filled with ice and Corona and limes in the middle.

I've heard that before, but was always left wondering about the canned Corona. If you don't add a lime I think it tastes like shit, and to me, that kind of defeats the purpose. Its like adding ketchup to a fine steak.

az_bobby 04-27-2007 04:43 PM

you can find Indio in kegs, close or just across the border.

bufferover 04-27-2007 04:44 PM

Corona isn't beer, take skopsko

DatingGold 04-27-2007 04:44 PM

have you seen my keg?

beemk 04-27-2007 05:05 PM

ive seen different kinds of mexican beer come in draft beer in about ever bar ive been to in mexico.

Aquarius 04-27-2007 06:19 PM

No way man, I live in Mexico and here Tecate is like the cheapest beer, it tastes horrible; Coronas and Indio are the most common here because of their quality and price.

smashface 04-27-2007 08:51 PM

You can check out what the closest Bevmo has to you by checking the Beer tab and selecting Pickup as an option. Many carry Dos XX and Tecate in kegs.

now is a very good time to hit up breweries actually. they end their fiscal spending in october and save lots of dollars for summer.

bogo 04-27-2007 09:36 PM

Mexican beer is nothing to write home about..Try a keg of Molsons or Labatts that will fix you up. :winkwink:

Corona is Mexican. Though I do know they have a distributors base out of Chicago and possibly other American cities. Doesn't make it any less of a Mexican beer. They serve Coca-Cola in Thailand, that certainly doesn't make it Thai.

I am aware of where Foster's comes from. I was trying to let Canada save face by suggesting that maybe the Aussie's can put out a product as poor as Molsons or LaCraps Blew

If Canadian beer was the best, wouldn't it be the best selling? Or is it priced like a Ferrari?

Buddy,im not sure what the best selling beer is,although im sure Labatts or Molsons is a much bigger company than Corona.
