Stuart Lawley needs to return the 4.6 mil he stole from this industry
Over 76,700 registrations for something that they basically "feared" people into at a cool 60 bucks a pop minimum, I've seen places that were 75 = $4,603,380
76,723 x 60 = $4,603,380 Not a bad payday for TLD extensions that have zero value and were basically strong armed out of fear that people would lose their top levels. Give back the money pocket liner! :2 cents: |
I thought registration was free, he just opened it up so people would register and he thought he could use it as a sign of support for the ICANN Board.

When .xxx was FIRST proposed, I simply emailed my registrar and asked them "when can I order .xxx domains?" and was told "If approved they will be available the next day on our website."
So I dont understand why people pre-ordered anything. Fear should never override common sense. Why don't they charge back, or if the money is "gone" already, sue to get it back? |
if no one had to pay then how did they register them? i tried to register a name out of curiosity to see if they were going to tag on a bunch of extra fees with the registrations and it asked me for a credit card.

They don't deserve the money back. Would be nice to get the money from him though and give it to some charity.
