i've seen one or two people in my day get sick or have a panic attack while high.

I'm 42 and the first time I got high I was 11 or 12 or so. We're talking 1976, 1977 and it was at a Doobie Brothers concert.

So let me just say that back in the olden days, you would get a big bag of brown weed full of stems and seeds for like $10. Then you'd have to smoke just about all of it to get high.

Today you would get a green or purple bud covered in trichomes, harvested at it's absolute peak (20% amber, 80% cloudy trichomes) and 1 hit will waste you for 2 hours.

Yes, it's way the hell stronger due to people actually growing it as a crop and knowledge spreading about how and when to harvest, dry and cure it.

Id be willing to bet its more local grown stuff.

Well, the stats on alcohol related visits to the emergency room bypass anything related to marijuana. They fail to mention that part, and alcohol is legal.

Nobody has ever died from a thc overdose. However look up the stats on alcohol poison and deaths.

More and more media reports are mentioning the potential merits of marijuana. The most recent headlines say the active ingredient in the drug cuts tumor growth in common lung cancers in half and greatly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread.

Researchers at Harvard University tested marijuana's main ingredient, delta-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, in both lab and mouse studies and say their experiments are the first to show THC inhibits the growth of cancer.

Researchers are not certain why THC inhibits tumor growth, but it could be that the substance activates molecules that arrest the cell cycle. THC may also interfere with angiogenesis and vascularization, which promotes cancer growth.

There is a long way to go in the study of THC. Yet "the beauty of this study is that we are showing that a substance of abuse, if used prudently, may offer a new road to therapy against lung cancer," says Anju Preet, Ph.D., a researcher in the Division of Experimental Medicine.

Actually the THC level in weed has been going up for the last 10 years... growers are really meticulus nowdays and they have labs to develeop better seeds / clones and techniques too grow it fast.
