Adbrite sponsors another great site

AVNads / Adbrite seems to be on all the good sites these days.

http://webgoggles.com/?f=hot

A "searching" hotlink site. Careful what you click, some of it goes to seekmo, some of it goes to worse... the rest is all AVN ads stuff.

AVN: You guys are suppose to be industry leaders... why do you allow such scummy sites into your ad networks?

HELLO? Anyone home up there in the gilded castle of porn?

Aussie Rebel 04-25-2007 09:34 PM

A very few companies are the ones providing the financial means for many scummy sites to exist.

Yes your right and if they are put in the spot light and boycotted things might start changing

Not surprising. Disappointing. AVN wants to be (and claims to be) a leader in this industry, a rallying point. In some sense, with thier magazines, shows, etc, they are suppose to be part of the whole moral compass of the industry.

So for me, it is rather disgusting to see their advertising arm being the one stop shopping for these sites to earn money and stay in business.

Does anyone from AVN want to comment on this?

adbrite/avn banned fuskers a while back, they are good about removing sites. talk to kevin, i am sure this will be an easy move for them

digifan 04-26-2007 06:32 AM

They used to dvertise on the big fusker sites too.. I am not surprised.

That was the result of another adult webmaster forum's activity.

Fris, I lead that fight on another chatbaord, and it got the point where Pud (from Fuckedcompany, one of the owners of Adbrite) was posting and denying that anything was wrong. The termination of the adbrite contract with the Fusker system and banning fuskers is one of the main reasons why they disappeared: It was no longer profitable to steal other people's content with fusker.

In order to get AVN to do it, there had to be a huge backlash. No matter how you try to paint it, I have first hand experience with them, and they are not inclined to term anyone. Their process seems to involve review all the way up to actual lawyers, because they don't want to claim something is illegal if it isn't. They are not strong on enforcing their own ToS.

Maybe you can contact someone over there and ask them to drop in on this thread and enlighten us?

Here's another I found today, looks fairly new.

Take note Naughty America.

Anyone know someone at AVN that might want to make a comment?

I highly doubt it:mad:

Adbrite was started simply to cash in on the sites that were rejected from AdSense. While the initial idea was to target adult sites primarily, their lenience with advertisers helped all kinds of scum sites gravitate towards adbrite.

will76 04-26-2007 11:59 PM

I wont do business with them. If more adult webmasters stopped buying from them they might be forced to clean up their act. The last thing I want is traffic from torrent and zango infested sites.

Follow the logic here, surfer hits scummysite.com downloads zango shit, clicks my adbrite ad, i make no money off of them. I make no money but i just help put money in the pocket of the idiot who is promoting zango cash.

No wonder when i tried adbrite my results were terrible. Its all torrent and zango infested traffic.

Turboface 04-27-2007 12:06 AM

I am currently giving free traffic away thru my new program conteXaclick.

It's alot like AdSense/AdWords/AdBright.
