Remember one judge being "subtle" - it was a case involving a gay relationship (tho core issue was serious and nothing to do with the gay element) and witness testimony of a blowjob entered into the scenario.

This was a particularly stupid instance where the defendant was unusually dumb and being a mouthy smartass - suppose it makes good TV for the masses :winkwink:

A sensible case with a few good arguments is kinda different.

Only me, but can't agree with the concept of "TV justice" or trial by TV - it makes a farce of the legal system. Same with the stupid legal "commentators" rambling over scraps of supposed "evidence" they know nothing about - example "Nancy Grace" et al.

But... it exists and obviously some lawyers/justices are willing to pander to it.

Judges "talk down" to idiots every day - nothing unusual - most "normal people" get a degree of respect. Respect goes both ways.
