Adding Watermark/URL to .wmv files

I have cleaner 5 but that seems to only deal with converting .mpg

I need something to add urls/watermark directly to the .wmv files

I think you're going to need MPEG for that, which is a good reason for content providers to include MPEG's when they supply movies. I'd be interested to hear if there is way, though.

You do it at the time you encode the files into wmv or asf.

I don't know the technical details, I do know our guys on occasion forget to do it on the videos for the new sites and then they bitch like hell because they have to re-encode the whole thing.

exactly. you should be adding any text/watermarks once you are finished the editing process, but before you encode/compress the source video.

I might be mistaken, but I think I read that that in the next Windows Media resource kit will do what you want. Until then you have to do it during your source video editing and before you convert it into a wmv like Quiet said.

You can edit the attributes though afterwards. (so it will display your information on the player itself)
