My Monitor Is Fucking Up!

Can anyone help please?

My monitor has started to freak out. At first it just started to breathe once in a while. But now, the whole screen keeps wacking out. I upped my hz from 60 to 70 and it got better for a little bit, but now it's freaking out again. It's doing it more often than it did before. Anyone know what's happening to it? It is about to die?

your monitor is in the process of flat lining

hope you have a back up one kicking around

GFED 08-19-2002 02:14 AM

How long do you think it'll last?

Rocky 08-19-2002 02:18 AM

hard to say

is it doing the weird warping effect yet?

or has it ever done that wild looking horizontal line with bizarre pixalations?

i kept fucking around with mine for about a week but it just got progressively worse

and talk about a blow to my manhood

went from an 18" to a 15"

:(

There's a new monitor for you.. less than $1 too..
It's from Canada though.. so its your choice if you wanna take the risk.

I've got a backup... but I'll be going from a 19" to a 13". :(
It's just shinking and expanding... sometimes it scrambles... If I hit it, it fixes it sometimes for a little bit...

Why? My Amiga used 60hz... What's a higher hz have to do with going blind? :)

Yeah, it's dying, but don't worry - used monitors are cheap and you should be able to find one the same day your old one bites the dust. That's what I did when my old one suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke.

That sucks... I've always had a problem with Dell monitors... my last one was a 17" and it was about 3 years old (same as this one) when it started to POP everytime I turned it on. Dell Sux... I'm going with the cow computer next time...

kinkyplace 08-19-2002 02:45 AM

3 years sounds like average lifetime of a monitor. Unless you pour water into it, in which case it could be less (tip: don't put flowers that need watering behind your monitor)

Eh? 3 years for a monitor is it? My RGB is 20 years old and still perrrfect... * * * knock on wood... :)

don't worry, if you hit it and it fixes -> it has an imperfect electronic contact.
it must be easy for an electronics technician to repair this, I had the same problem...
