Photographers: what equipment do you use?

I have a Canon 5D, MKIIN, and 70-200mm F/4L. I'm going to be getting a few new lens this week.

I'm thinking about upgrading...although it's not about the camera or lenses, its about the photographer...(or so I've been told). :winkwink:

At the moment I am playing around with a Canon G7 and the flash 430EX also from Canon. I have been having my eye on the 400D for a little while.

We use a Canon EOS 1d Mark II for our main camera, and a Canon 10d as our backup, and secondary angles sometimes too. Both of us shooting at the same time sometimes. :thumbsup

Cannon D5,works more then good:)

Of all of my cameras, my favorite hands-down is my Nikon FE2, with Nikkor glass. Its a big old metal body that has been dropped from a building, banged against my pack, and dragged around 4 continents. Seriously the best camera I have ever owned. I've beaten the hell out of this camera and only had to replace UV filters and batteries. Beyond that I have a rebuilt Zeiss ikonoflex, Mamiya 330, Canon AE and a Canonet G-III 17 (possibly the best cheap rangefinder ever made). I'm going to give my son the canonet to learn with this summer and I want to get a Nikon SP to replace it :)

I was reading in this months american photo, a guy shoots for national geographic.Lions at night was the shoot and he used a rebel xt. He said it was light, cheap and looked better than film at 1600 iso. So it goes to show you its the photog not the equipment.

I'll agree with you on that. I still prefer film to digital though. I guess I'm just a luddite or something. Or a hobbyist. I haven't sold a picture in years. If I was shooting professionally I would probably be all digital.

Take a look at the 24-70 f2.8L. Fantastic all around lens.

Canon 1ds Mark II and 20d as 2nd camera. For lights we use a 4 light Dyna Lite stobe setup and a Kino Flo setup for continuous lighting.

D80, SB-800 (or alien bees strobes when I feel like setting them up), lens I used to use a 28-70 f2.8 Nikkor ($2200) but I seem to get nicer pictures from my 18-200 f3.5-5.6 that I originally bought as a carry all vacation lens. Still a $900 lens, but in reality it shouldnt be better then my other lens.
I think its just becuase it alows me much greater zoom abilities without moving as much, but I really have no idea, lol.

That 18-200 is out of this world. It's a miracle for that price (originally $ 750.- at Adorma, if you can get one). Makes you want to eBay off a whole suitcase full of old, expensive, heavy lenses.
