That would be it too. I remember the day MTV hit the air...August 1, 1981.

That's my dad's birthday and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I remember where I was when Thriller had its world premier. I can't remember being watching the exact day that mtv itself it launched, but I did a goodly number of drugs back then.

I do remember thinking that mtv was the absolute coolest thing ever...everything from the orginal vj's to the neat little moon man logo/clips.

It's a tie between Michael Jackson's' "I Want To Rock With You", and the BeeGee's "Staying Alive".

same here, though as a canadian i never got mtv. i used to watch video hits all the time though on the cbc.

The first one I remember as to the name of the song..Mike jackson billy jean.

My sister was really into him and she said to me "there he is! That is what he looks like!"

mine was from the Ace of Base dont come around was the title of the song i think...

It was either Devo's "Beautiful World" or Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight". Wasn't on MTV though.

Eventhough it was before my time i think that is the same for me as well.. atleast as far back as i remember
