What's The Best Job You Ever Had???
 

The best job I ever had was working for Stephen Hicks back in 2001. Stephen has been a Penthouse Photographer for years and for a year I had to pinch myself because I couldn't believe that I was working for him. It was simply the job of a lifetime for someone like myself who had a interest in Photography and wanted to learn from a master. Stephen was kind, he was generous and had a passion for producing quality top-notch imagery. I'll remember that experience until the day that I die :thumbsup

The question is, how did you land that gem?

Every job I had was working for the man..challenging yet stressful.I like working with my hands though

I found his website and sent an email explaining that I was a color correcter & retoucher and I was looking for work. A few days later my phone rang. I answered and he was like....."Dean? This is Stephen Hicks" - and I couldn't believe it. He wanted to meet with me and discuss some projects that he had coming up.

Long story short - he hired me as a color correcter & retoucher and I also assisted him on his shoots for a year (he had 3 assistants at that time). It was shit money but the experience made up for it. I shot actor headshots on the side to make extra money so I could pay my bills and stay with Stephen as long as I could and continue to learn from "the man"! It was hard & difficult but definitely worth it in the long run.

Best job I ever had was a blow job... :pimp

I loved my job as a pizza driver back in high school... Hang out with high school buddies, deliver pizza, listen to loud music and smoke pot while driving around San Mateo, CA.

That is an awesome story Dean. Well, it certainly paid off.

I enjoyed operating a CAT 966 loader, was fun times, just doesnt pay the bills.

Honestly, working for Homegrown would have to be the best job I've ever had. They treat me extremely well and are like a second family.

I'd have to agree with my hubby. I couldn't imagine a better place for me than at Homegrown, they appreciate it when you put your passion into your work :)

Best job I had was throwing the paper at 3 AM in this little suburban town. They had a really really strict police force, but as time went on the cops got to know me as the late night newspaper guy. When I got really comfortable with the cops, I decided that I'd run every stop sign in the entire town regardless of whether the cops were there or not. Mission accomplished!

The only post I do these days are for the pics that I post on the boards and that I use in my portfolio. The images that I deliver to my clients are color corrected for beautiful skin tone but I leave the actual retouching & finishing up to them and their graphics people. I just have no time and no desire these days to sit behind the computer for hours and hours retouching pimples on girls asses :winkwink:

I'd love to see some of your pre-retouched images against your post ones Dean. Your work is incredible ... especially the work you do with Carly Banks ... :) But I've often thought about how your images would look without the glossiness. I like the glossiness, but I'm interested.

I LOVED the shoot you did with Carly where you made the images appear dirty and grainy. Some people gave you a lot of shit over it, but I think with an open mind and they were some of my favorites from you.

Great story Dean, I would have to say the best job I ever had is this one I have been doing for about 12 years now. Working in this Industry. Keeps me on my toes, I love coming to work everyday, I love seeing what we can do next.

GFY - its not so much a job as 'a calling'.

Working in A/V as a technician and a rigger. Terrible hours, terrible pay, but great fun.

I'm loving all job without the boss, which generate bunch of the money.

Brewmaster.

Managed my own brewery. A half-dozen of the most kicked-back peeps I've ever managed. Drank Beer all day.

Everyone I met on-the-job always had a smile on their face - no one's ever upset to see the master brewer.

I used to do special effects for big budget hollywood films for about 10 years.
I still keep in touch with several FX people and I always tell them, "I miss the players, but I don't miss the game"

Hardly ever had a "job" - only thing was a couple of years in TV/film industry - and that was more like adventure/fun time than anything.

Well my current gig rocks for sure, but I would say the time I worked for KISS managing their official website and going on the road with them in the US and Australia gathering content for the site was amazing.

Well now this one, but back in the day there were 2.

Bartending the Wet T-Shirt contests on the Beach in Lauderdale. Great way to make some college cash, and get laid.

Bartending at Rumjungle at Mandaly Bay in Vegas (when it first opened) . Cash money, House Music, 120 different Rums to "Sample" every night, and Women Galore. If you didn't get 4 or 5 room keys in your tip jar at the end of the night it was a slow night.

My job right now is by far the best job I've ever had!! :)

i guess...my first real job - at an ad agency. i had a blast!

I escorted "escorts" to home jobs when brothels became legal here back in the 90's. That was fun...

My best job is collecting these crazy 'porn' checks and sleeping, can't really call it a job!
