I am now a scuba instructor - Congratulate me!
 

This might not sound like a big deal to those of you who don't dive, but as of today, I am officially a PADI Scuba Instructor. I'm now certified to teach all the way up through Divemaster.

I headed down to Florida about a month ago, and worked on a dive boat as a divemaster, all the while training and studying to get through my Instructor Development Course. I took a little break for Internext, but other than that, this is pretty much all I've been doing. The Instructor's Exam was this weekend (both days), and I passed with flying colors!

It was a lot of work, a lot of fun, and worth every minute. This is yet another example of why I love the adult industry. Thanks to having a relatively steady income, I was able to quit my day job and focus on some of my hobbies/passions - like scuba diving.

Anyway, at the next convention that's near water, if anyone wants to stick around for a few days and do some diving, I'm in!

I only have two more days until I'm finally back home and can get some real work done. hehehe...

Ok, enough of my rambling.

Diving is for pussies, real men sit in front of computers all day stuffing twinkies down their throat.

I almost got my padi certification (lowest level diver) forget now but i never completed one task underwater and the fockers wouldnt give it to me!

Speaking of hot chicks scuba diving, or a lack thereof...I figured I'd be meeting all sorts of babes working on the boat. Pbbbft. Fat chance.

Did you know that only 28% of divers are chicks? And did you know the average age of a diver is 38? By my math, I figure that only 1 out of every 147 divers is a babe. I plan on doing my best to change those numbers, thank you very much.

People drown in their bath tubs. You can get hurt anywhere... So, yes, while you could get hurt diving in 10-15 feet of water, while not fucking around, it is HIGHLY unlikely.

More people are hurt bowling every year than are hurt scuba diving. I shit you not. There are about 4 accidents per 10,000 scuba divers every year. For comparison sake, there are 217 per 10,000 in American football, 209 in baseball, 186 in basketball, etc...

haha.... funny you should mention that. One of my friends uses a prop we all call Scuba Steve.

Congrats! I am a PADI diver myself, not an instructor tho.. Just got back from a week of diving in mauritius!

In Mauritius, there are some pretty hot chicks diving, and many like to sunbath topless on the way back.

I do a little diving myself...Its just not in water

And for those of you who have never been scuba diving, you really should try it sometime. Next time you are on vacation somewhere near dive operations, stop in. You'd be surprised how little is required to get you into the water. Try it out, and if you love it (you will), then think about getting certified.

I havent dived in about 5 years, I got sick of strapping on 40lbs of lead to sink my 7mm wetsuit

But I'm heading to the Great Barrier Reef in November, I'm not missing out on diving there.
