DAMN ATLANTA TRAFFIC! I'm sick of it... 15 miles, 70 minutes! How about you?

O.K. I know most of you will probably say HA! HA! I work from home or why don't you just work from home but that's not the way we roll here at AlmightyContent. We've got a 7 person In-House team taking care of business every day the old-fashioned way.

When I first started I tried the 9am to 6pm schedule and from the NW suburbs of Atlanta to our office and the average travel time for the 15 mile commute was OVER an HOUR each way.

The first thing I said was let's try a 10am to 7pm work schedule and guess what... I cut my commute time by a little over 50%:)

So instead of waking up bitching every morning about having to sit in "Rush Hour" I wake up with a much better outlook and I'm even helping the environment by not having my car running that extra hour each day!
:thumbsup

How about you guys... How far do you commute to work?

JenniDahling 04-23-2007 09:21 AM

It used to take me 2 hours each way when I was working at AVN. Now its from my bed to my desk if I'm not traveling. Don't feel bad Jim, that's great time compared to LA traffic!

fusionx 04-23-2007 09:22 AM

9 miles - 25 minutes by surface streets, 35 minutes by freeway. heh.

WiredGuy 04-23-2007 09:27 AM

About 10km which takes 15 minutes during the day and about 10 minutes at night. I won't commute more than 20 minutes each way, it takes too much of my time.

bicycle.........

jacked 04-23-2007 09:28 AM

sounds similar to jersey/new york traffic, after 5 on any of the highways going in or out of the city your going to sit for a hot minute

Sosa 04-23-2007 09:30 AM

I suppose that is one nice thing living here in bum fuck nebraska haha

SykkBoy 04-23-2007 09:46 AM

Las Vegas can be pretty bad too, but since I changed the office hours to 8-4, it's much easier, especially the morning commute. I live about 23 miles from the office and on a 9-5 schedule, I'd be looking at about an hour 15 minute commute in the morning as opposed to about 40 minutes with the earlier schedule.

LiveDose 04-23-2007 09:47 AM

I drove through there once. Never again.

tony286 04-23-2007 09:55 AM

Compdoctor 04-23-2007 09:58 AM

Axzar 04-23-2007 10:18 AM

Manila, 1 mile every ten minutes during rush hour.

jollyperv 04-23-2007 10:21 AM

Fuck, we've got it good here compared to Chicago, LA and NYC!

selena 04-23-2007 10:22 AM

I commute 3 steps from bed to desk.

RawAlex 04-23-2007 10:40 AM

I have to wonder...

You are the owner of an online porn company. Why in fucks name would you want your company to be in the middle of a huge traffic congested city? It seems to me that you end up wasting time in traffic, wasting huge amounts of money on over priced housing, and you overpay for the office space you are using.

Isn't their a decent suburb around Altanta that the office could move to and save everyone (and the company) a shit load of time and money?

That is one thing I will never do again... Drove I-90 from South Dakota into downtown Chicago to our hotel. NEVER EVER again lol. Once you hit the area around O'hare it was like 2 hours to go the last little bit to reach our hotel. Oh yeah and it was 105 F that day...

Dollarmansteve 04-23-2007 10:50 AM

18 miles, 30 - 40 minutes. Guess I don't have it so bad.

baddog 04-23-2007 10:56 AM
