That's a good way to keep the Ticas in line.

"Oh, no, Mr Roger, I will swallow next time! I so sorry. Please put the snake away!"

Too much work. They fucking live forever and now you can't leave your house cuz someone will have to take care of it.

So how you're gonna call it Franck?

TG Rebecca 04-23-2007 08:07 AM

i have never had a pet snake, but a friend of mine had a huge boa constrictor. when she got it, the thing was tiny (of course) but it is massive now. it got out once and they had to broadcast on the news for people not to leave small pets and children outside unattended, and to pay close attention to your toilets before you use them and while you're using them if it's going to be more than a few seconds. :/

kektex 04-23-2007 08:24 AM

I had a boa some time ago but I gave it to a friend because it got too big.He had a huge enclosure for it in his backyard.
I remember that my cats used to watch it all the time and the snake would strike at them throught the glass. That sent them running real quick...

kektex 04-23-2007 08:29 AM

You know what else I remembered? Picking up it's shit.
It's particularly disgusting...

Sosa 04-23-2007 08:36 AM

That is one pet I will never have

You don't need to feed a snake very often. Snakes are pretty low maintenance in my experience.

Yep, I used to feed mine two mice once a month.
Of course once they get bigger that is gonna increase.

Ross 04-23-2007 09:05 AM

I hate snakes. I'll never ever ever own one or hold one or go near one! I really really hate them.

shekinah 04-23-2007 09:27 AM

that is really no pet, imagine, you are sleeping with a snake.. that was kinda scary!!:

Miss Munki 04-23-2007 09:36 AM

Just be sure to handle it and socialize it appropriotely (during a time frame that it is safe to do so). I remember my brother running around the house with a 4 ft. red tail Boa (which are generally nice) clamped to the inside of his arm. It was difficult trying to get him back in his cage after that, everyone was scared as hell to pick it up again.

Z 04-23-2007 12:06 PM

I had an albino burmese python when I was a teenager. She was about 5" long when I got her and I had to sell her when I joined the Marine Corps. She was 14" long when I sold her.

I've got a 6 month old red tail boa now.

Pics?

You don't have to feed them often, but you have to clean the cage often or they will get sick and die, my friend had one, same thing happened.

shoeaholicanon 04-23-2007 01:08 PM

tornell 04-23-2007 01:22 PM
