They look pretty cool!! You should build some things for them to jump around on.
you bought them and don't even know what they eat?
anyway, they look cute |
Can you toilet train a squirrel?
do you need any cooking receips??
why in the fuck would you buy squirrels....they will be hard to manage i would think...but ive never experienced a captive squirrel though, so...
good luck |
please tell me that you atleast did some research before you got them and that your question of what they like to eat was in regards to maybe treats or something. they are adorable and gonna be a handful. I have a pair of sugargliders and they are a pain but worth it
aaaaaaaahhhh, how cute. Just dont get bit, squirrels have rabies.
Aawwwww, how cute!
Yeah get them a forest to run around and play.....that's what makes squirrels happy, they're not pet animals
you stick in a shoebox size cage. |
haha, very cute animals
wtf a pet squirrel?

hey boys, read this...................and ServerGenius, i'd say that their life now is a step forward for them, they used to live in heat, and NO space, now they can run freely in my apartment, AND i cant let them go free here in Bangkok, squirrels wont survive in the wild here in Bangkok, they'd be dead within a few minutes Quote:

stuffed in 5x5 boxes. Not that care too much really. I'm not a peta freak just tried to make you feel a bit guilty lol |
When are you coming back to the states?
Find a park and set them free..they will be too much hassle when they grow up
i'd recommend making or buy a habitrail for the little fellas! i don't know what they eat though, i've had ferrets before so i'd imagine they might have similar diets but i don't want to give any wrong advice there. if you don't get or build a habitrail you'll end up with squirrels pooping in your shoes and chewing up your toilet paper rolls. :winkwink: good luck!
Wow!!! You should be careful not to step on them! They eat nuts, different kinds of seed... whatever a rodent eats...
My dad owned squirrels *briefly* when he was young. When the squirrels get to be older they will have enough power to bite your finger off if they feel like it. Not a wise pet to have. They are too intelligent to be stuck in a cage as they can often figure out how to open the door after watching you do it.
Holy fuck, I want one. Or two...
I think my squirrel will like new playmates http://baltgames.lv/v2/usergalleries/126018.jpg |

but yes i agree, but sometimes i just cant help but try to help the animals that are right in front of my face rather than thinking of the big picture, what i REALLY want to start doing is taking the stray dogs on off the streets and getting them all fixed up and unsickening them Quote:

but do you know, can they be made to understand? and take love? and know that we arent here to hurt them etc etc? if so then i think i wouldnt have to worry about any bites since we will treat them very well, i love animals Quote:

They don't have pack leader mentality, so they won't see you like a dog would see you as its leader. It is easy to humanize some animals thinking they are capable of some of the emotions you have. Unfortunately, they're creatures of basic instinct. You *may* have a chance to get them to realize they are dependent on you if they have to do something specific (desired behavior) to get food and water. However, most of the time people will simply feed them once a day. They didn't ahve to do anything to get the food, so they don't equate a behavior with getting the food. "Oh I was in my cage and because I was here I got food" will not be passing through their minds.

Had a good friend that saved a baby squirrel after it fell out of a tree when it was still a very tiny baby.
It grew up fine and turned into a regular pet around their house. I know they fed it a lot of nuts and seeds, apples fruit etc etc..... It grew some SERIOUS RAZOR SHARP CLAWS after it got older. It would fuck your arm up in a mobile minute if it jumped on you. |
never heard of squirrelpets before.. Cute though
squirrels??? you can have them as pets??? now I have seen almost everything

http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/2...22spiceow6.jpg I got two of them years ago... they were neat at first, really novel. Then they started barking. They bark like dogs, like little fucking dogs. And they never shut the hell up! When they weren't sleeping, they were fucking BARKING or making this ugly screaming sound that sounded like a fart from Satan's ass. Finally a while back one of them died and I was told that if I didn't buy another one that it would die from depression, so I didn't buy another one hoping this one would die. It has been fucking two years and not only has it not died but the fucker barks worse than before. The only time I can get it to hush is to feed it an apple  |
what was the motive behind getting squirles anyway?

In captivity, squirrels need to be provided with a variety of foods to make sure they are getting the proper nutrition. Good mixtures to feed your squirrel include vegetables (such as celery, carrots, green beans, and romaine lettuce), and many fruits (such as apples and bananas). You can also try insects and mealworms. Parrot food is another good choice since it has many seeds that squirrels like. Calcium is also very important, so you should include a calcium supplement for squirrels kept as pets. There are many types of tablets and powders available at pet stores that can be used.
Squirrels teeth grow constantly throughout their lives, and so you should make sure that they are provided with chewing material. Hard bark and large bones are good for this. Make sure there is a constant supply of water for your squirrel. Put water in a heavy dish or in a water bottle attached to the side of the cage. Also make sure to thoroughly clean food and water dishes daily with hot water. |
who do you think you are? the beastmaster?
Hi there!
They look very nice! Just, make sure they see and "feel" as much nature as possible. Such animals are not build for living in cages and need to see and feel "green" ;) Best Regards, Jan Jaap |
Your squirrels are adorable!
