Anyody ever go to a "PAIN MANAGEMENT" Specialist????????
 

My orthopedist shot my back with steroids and it took pain away for few weeks but its back.... he told me to see a pain management specialist...


Now is this guy gonna load me up on pain killers?

no most likely they will put electrical probes in your back/spine to block the pain. my dad is having the procedure done tuesday.

hmmm how effective is that? How long does it last? casue this pain is casuing me to be not able to sleep and such and really fucking up my day to day regime

Juicy, it really depends on the pain management doctor.

Basically, when it comes to blocking pain in your brain you have two choices, and they have been the same two choices for the past 5,000+ years because we haven't found anything better -- and that is OPIOIDS or CANNABINOIDS.

Narcotics or cannabis.

Yes there are procedures such as the electrical stimulation, steroid shots, etc, but these don't work for everyone or in every situation.

Since you don't live in California or another medical cannabis state, the doctor is either going to take you down the path of narcotics, such as a fentanyl patch or through a bunch of hoops with surgery or steriods or whatever.

You know that once you start narcotics you'll go through withdrawls if you ever stop, so keep that in mind.

I don't know what kind of pain you are having but if it is nerve related, like sciatica, cannabis is better at relieving that kind of pain.

The 'pain management specialists' in Canada are known as Cold Beer and Wine stores. Liquor stores are basically the same thing. :)
