any porsche mechanics? serious question
 

1995 993 and ive had for 12 years--52k miles

its got towed to dealer so ill get the bad news monday morning from the deal but i was hoping to get some insite to what i did..since she 12 years old and it great shape im forced to fix her...


on highway driving 60mph ish---dowshift 6th to 5th then meant to hit 4 but went into 2---i heard something pop---car drove but lose ton of power---imediatley pulled over---car wouldnt start---felt like not enough juice to start---clutch worked fine when driving after and when trying to start...

what did i do???? I know its bad....just how bad....

at Porsche that's probably about $8-$10k

Obviously, your car has no rev limiter as that would have popped it out of gear and saved the engine. They will more than like do a compression test to see if you fucked the engine. After that a leakdown to see where the problem is. If it was just the tranny it would have restarted so I'm betting it is engine issues.
