Name one MAJOR decision that has changed your life for the BEST

Mine would be moving away after high school. Have something coming up that could be even better though.

Name yours. Getting married? Having kids? Going to school? Dropping school? Buying a business? Selling a business?

baddog 04-21-2007 05:12 PM

divorce.

xclusive 04-21-2007 05:14 PM

Getting married, Settled me down and made me more focused.

Webby 04-21-2007 05:15 PM

Most impact? Going "international" - it just removed so much commercial baggage.

Martina Warren 04-21-2007 05:15 PM

Getting divorced. best thing i have ever done.

DeanCapture 04-21-2007 05:27 PM

Moving from Memphis to Los Angeles. Was one of the hardest things I've ever done - leaving all my family back in the south and moving to LA where I had no friends, no family and no job. I was sick to my stomach for about 2 weeks. Turned out to be a great decision though - just took a while to sink in :winkwink:

Porn Farmer 04-21-2007 05:51 PM

Travel, travel, travel, travel and, uh.... travel.

Everything else I have done pales in comparison to my backpacking adventures around the globe.

Damian_Maxcash 04-21-2007 06:02 PM

I was going to say travel - even before I saw the other answers.

They should make it compulsory - especially for you Americans.

Webby 04-21-2007 06:05 PM

Totally agree with the last two posts - having some clue of the world is "necessary" :thumbsup

If the toll in this thread is an example of the ignorance/mentality - little hope

Having my sex change operation reversal reversed the second time. Not the first time, but the second time really perfomred miracles for me.

moving from Massachusetts to California (Tahoe) a couple of weeks out of college. I wanted to pursue a dot com career (which turned out to be at Xpics) and I thought Cali was where I should be. It was a big risk and it was very tough at first, but i had faith that I was at the right place, in a good industry. I worked hard and everything really fell into place. i'm so happy i made that decision. I can set my own hours, travel a bunch, live anywhere i want and make good money doing something i love.

Falling into web sites, and then adult, almost by accident. Profit margins and just plain old gross was so much higher than my mainstream service biz.

jayeff 04-21-2007 11:18 PM

A decision didn't have the greatest impact on my life. Rather it was realizing one day that for the vast majority of people, myself included at the time, "ambition" in reality rarely means more than wanting to accomplish what is expected of one. As a result, without consciously limiting ourselves, most of us restrict our serious thinking and planning to things which will only, unless we are very lucky, allow us at best to reach what are usually quite modest targets.

If instead you believe that anything is possible, then anything is possible.

Marrying Eva.

I was 48, she was 21. I had two failed marriages behind me and was terrified of making it three.

I was thinking of retiring and going to live in Thailand on a beach, did not want more children. I ended up married, with a daughter and work harder than I ever have.

Best decision I ever made. Ten years later we are still together, still in love and I'm happier than I have ever been.
