    RSS guys, can I have a word with you puurty please?

    I'm a little slow getting on this RSS bandwagon and now understand it in regards to blogs, and getting my own news feeds delivered to me. However, if I want to take a standard HTML page and offer it as an RSS feed, what do I need to do this? Is it just as simple as writing the code? Or does it need to run through some sort of Dr Suess machine to make it work?

      is this for a program to offer rss feeds to affiliates?

      if so, I will tell you the same thing I tell everyone wanting to get rss feeds into the program

      talk to John at Too Much Media and grab a copy of RssDish

          No, but I will talk to them anyway about that.

          This was for delivery from a normal HTML based site (not for affiliates). I'm just understanding the power of it all and want to see what I can do with it.

              you want to convert a normal html page into an rss feed? I have no clue how to do that, you would need some sort of script processing the html pages

                      you'd have to use a scripting language most likely.

                          Will that page be updated regularly? because if not it will pretty much be a waste of time to do...

                          I used to use a content generator that auto created an xml page for each static html page. The programmer added that feature because he heard rss was good to have without really understanding the why or how.

                          It will double the number of pages listed in the SE's though and with browsers now able to read those pages it might bring in some more hits I guess.

                              You can also do thumbnails but I got lazy.

                              it's done with php and mysql. you can even use magpie to create simple javascript to put your feeds on any site. example: http://allpornfeeds.com/porn-rss/build.php
