Are you a wimp, wimpette, or.....
.... neither?
Do you shut your computer off the second you hear a thunderstorm outside? Fuck it, I work during storms. I get messages on ICQ from time to time by someone saying "Oh, there's lightning outside, I'm gunna hafta shut down" ha ha. What? No surge protection? Fuck the warnings. I ignore storms. I keep working. Do you? |
I have surge protectors too, but still turn off my main computers and work off the shitty one.
|
You guys are pussies, i move my computer into the back yard during thunder storms. Bring it on mother nature you stupid whore!
|
Gary, you're a half nut. I go take a shower, WITH my laptop.

Gary is right.
There has only been a few times in the past 4 years where, during a thunder/lightning storm, while I was sitting at my computer my hair started to stand up on end, and my fingertips began to tingle. So what? I took my hands off the keyboard and mouse for a minute, till the feeling went away. I think the house next door to me got nailed by lightning on one of those times. Then it was right back to work. And I looked kind of cool with "Don King" head. ha ha fuck nature. |
Because I live in New Orleans, where the frequent rains always play havoc with the line voltage, and I do my own video tape mastering and duplication, I had the entire front half of my house wired on UPS some years ago. Still have to reboot the computer at times because the cable connection disappears during some storms but I work right through them.
Strange thing is, light bulbs rarely need replacing in that half of the house! I just may end up paying for the system in savings there- seems they really love the buffered current... |
Now I do...I've had a really bad experience once!

ha ha I now stay on the computer just so I can get electric head. :D |
My uncles modem got fried during a storm, he was using dial up.
|
We put in whole house surge protection at the point of entry for electric, phone and cable. And UPS on all of our systems. :thumbsup It was real easy for him to put in.
|
So Gem, that mean you continue to work through an electrical storm?
Ever get the Don King head? |
