She is lucky but that sucks that she has had to experience that twice now

meh. She was never in the line of fire.. there are 25,000 students at VT.. meaning she had a 99.872% chance of "miraculously surviving" - Not exactly something that requires a guardian angel.
Also given the sheer number of students , it's not exactly highly statistically unlikely you're going to have at least one student from one school there. She was in highschool... she had to go to university somewhere along with hundreds of others from her school.
