The reason Americans won't put down there guns...
Because it is our right to bare arms....
Cars kill more people every year then guns... Should we all stop driving? Medical mistakes kill more people every year in this country then guns... Should we all stop going to the doctor? Our right to own guns is why we have our freedom... When they take our guns away they will also take our freedom :thumbsup |
I think gfy needs about 5 more threads like this, there are not enough.
|
It would be kinda dumb if they outlawed guns completely because a lot of criminals get their guns illegally anyways. That would leave honest citizens unarmed and helpless...

I laugh at the 'Freedom' shit Americans come away with all the time. You aren't any more 'free' than most fucking countries in the world... |

i laugh at commentary from one of englands least successful colonies and most undesirable places to live in the world, chiming in on anything other than where to get another pint of beer. |

I cant believe people still come up with this argument. Its seriously the most stupid pathetic excuse pro gun lunatics come up with. So irrelevant and silly. |

Youre gun freedom made your country a dangerous place where every lunatic has the right to own a gun and yet you are so so fucking happy with it.

You have the right to guns. You don't have a right to bullets.
"bear arms". Why not carry a personal nuke, or perhaps a bazooka? I am sure they would but get you some respect and "street cred". |

that whole gun ban thing sure stopped mass shootings in your country: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2006/se...mont-s15.shtml |
No one wants to take your guns away but there is no denying there is a serious problem with people using guns to kill other people in america.

Doctors are trained for life, but they kill over 100,000 people in the US yearly, there are only 30,000 death from guns every year here! |
Quote:
you've also had other mass shooting. I mean, gee, with a gun ban, you shouldn't have any killings. so much for bad laws in less educated countries. |

whats funny is that psycho assholes are going to kill people regardless. Guns or not. Just think if that VTech dude didn't have access to guns. Maybe he would have just made a few bombs and blown up the building killing EVERYONE in the building.
Guns don't kill people. People kill people. |
Canadians and Europeans agree, Americans should give up their guns!

I have lived 10+ years in three countries during my life: England (where I was born), Israel and the US. Instead of the US being the example to the rest of the world which it could have been if the principles on which it was founded had been defended, at least of those three countries, US citizens enjoy less privacy, fewer practical rights and protections, and government is more intrusive. If there is the slightest risk of something prompting even the discussion of gun control, Americans you couldn't normally pry away from their televisions will start parroting the most ludicrous reasons for keeping their guns. Try getting most of those people to talk about education, healthcare or the economy... If people want to put their families at risk by having guns around, I guess that's their business. Naturally no-one ever admits that is what they are doing: the stats are all generated by other people. I hope so. I cannot imagine how someone must feel if one of his guns is used to kill or wound someone close to him. What makes my teeth itch is the ridiculous idea that if we ever got a non-democratic government, the people would all rise up and defeat the would-be oppressors. It won't happen. The vast majority of people are sheep and some of the noisiest people now will be the first in line, queued up to hand over their guns when ordered to do so. And you can be damn sure that an order to surrender guns would be one of the first declarations of such a government. Now imagine what the country might be like if as much energy and passion as the gun issue generates, instead went into things which might have a positive impact on our everyday lives. Then we might begin to have a country which actually reflected what the Founding Fathers intended. That, far more than a cupboard full of guns, would be the best way to ensure we never need them. |
I think the point people are missing is its a right TO BEAR ARMS
so why just guns and not rocket launchers? |

some Americans have guns, some don't, quit putting us all into one lump category.

Comparing Car Deaths to Gun Deaths should prove that |

Our right to bear arms is predicated by the fact that bears used to kill a lot of people and they found that if people had a right to bear arms then the bears would no longer have arms and would find it a much harder task to kill people. I think :winkwink: |

You have to understand that religous groups now control Republicans, and that true conservatives don't believe in a lot of the crap that the government has done. Most of the "republicans" on the board aren't really republicans of old, they just watch Fox News and think Bill O'Reilly is "cool". There was a day when Republicans stood for small government. Now they are basically liberals who are just religious. |

Hepatitis didn't kill as many people as cars. Should we bother sterilizing needles anymore? Alligators kill less people than cars. Should we be allowed to have them as pets? I don't care what side of the issue you are on, you can't compare those two. |
